Snudger:
He pleaded guilty. Before reading, any guesses to how much he got? (I bet you might underestimate it):-

8 years■■?

not enough :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

I was surprised it was even that much.

Tin Hat on…

If she was in the back of the car and everyone else survived, was she wearing a seatbelt? I don’t know and unless you were there you don’t know.

IF she wasn’t then although the accident wasn’t her fault then maybe her death was? If she was we MIGHT only be reading about a nasty accident. As I say I’m making no judgements here because I don’t know all the facts and I presume neither does anyone else on this forum. Maybe some of the coppers or HATO’s?

I know the blokes a ■■■■ and should have been driving on the right carriageway, should’nt have made a false claim about how long he’d held a UK licence, he had paid for insurance but that was invalid due to the above fraudulent statement on his application (anyone here done that for their kids to bring premiums down? “I’m the main driver my kid only uses it occasionally”).

We don’t know all the facts and the way I read that news report is that it is VERY Daily Mail like, in as much as it makes a great play on the fact that the bloke is an immigrant.

If he’d not been driving the wrong way it wouldn’t have mattered if she hadn’t a seatbelt on would it??

I’m not condoning not wearing a belt, but the fact is, if you don’t crash you don’t need it…and this accident wouldn’t have happened if the ■■■■ hadn’t been there.

Judging by the reports we hear about, immigrants are more likely to not have insurance and be driving not in accordance with their licence (or not have one at all). Not all are guilty of this of course but many are. TBH, if the driver has no licence or insurance I don’t give a ■■■■ where they come from - they should serve a life sentence if their actions have caused someone to die.
