Hi Dave, ■■■■ good blues song by George Throughgood about drinking at home !!, he also did a good tuckers one about a gearjammer, dont know what sort of music your into but worth checking out. Anyway always thought some of the best manovers happen at night, and cant wait to get behind a wagon wheel again, even ifts only a couple of nights a week, enjoying the sales job to give it up, and the money will come in usefull
regards Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Have heard the song somewhere, probably on the radio. I like a bit of all sorts of music,country,rock,60’s,some of the modern stuff. Got loads of CD’s also listen to radio 2 quite a bit, which play’s my type of music.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave, best song on the George Throughgood & the Destroyers CD is Bad to the Bone, but a great blues & Rock band. Got to agree about Radio 2, great station, although Mike Write takes a bit of listening to, but then again thats the time to go to radio 4 (Archers and play for the day) Did get to see Johnny Walker at Hay festival a couple of years ago, now theres a chap with good taste in music.
regards Andrew.

Quite like listening to Johnny Walker when he is on,mostly on a sunday know with sounds of the 70’s.Talking of Hay Festival, was talking to Brian May the queen guitarists driver at the snackvan at Letton the other week,he was here with Brian May who was at the festival, had taken someone to Hereford station and called in for a cuppa on the way back, had a big Merc car.
Cheers Dave.

hi Dave found a few morepics from tonfanau and minffordd quarries

Thanx for all these pictures Dave (they are brilliant!), the two Tarmac lorries pictured together are S2 FAD Fred Dulson from Bayston Hill (this wagon now runs out of Stowfield Quarry), while Fred has S2 FAD on a 8-wheeler Volvo working out of Bayston, the other is Y4 GCT Graham Cooper, also a Bayston haulier still, reg is now on a more recent Volvo.

Hi Andy,
The Tarmac and tipper pic’s in the last post were put on by jonmea a Towyn based tipper operator. I have had a few from Bayston Hill,as I travel the A49 and A5 quite a bit. Whats happened to Llynclys Quarry, went by there a few weeks back and it looked as if it was either shut or mothballed.
Cheers Dave.

Bedford TM six wheeler, taken specially for Bewick.

A couple of Leyland super Comet’s,seen at Gaydon. Drove one of these in tipper form in 1970,was then a nice lorry to drive.

Dave the Renegade:

Someone will know what this Foden was used for, looks like an ex twin steer unit, before the engine was placed on the back.

nowthen dave this foden looks like the one that was restored a while back and appeared in classic commercial. If the letters on the regestration are something DN(which is york regestration) it could well be the old flowers of york 8 wheeler that was used as a powder tanker, and the restorer cut off about 10 foot so as they could get it in to their workshop if i remember correctley.

Hi Andy,
Afraid I don’t know the number,we couldn’t get a front view pic,as there were a lot of people looking at all the lorries,so we had to get the pics as and when there was a chance.
Cheers Dave.

Cheers Dave.

The old Roadtrain always looked the part if nothing else. I drove one for a while ( made sure I never got a job with anyone that ran them after that ) My back has never recovered to this day!!!
