Hi Andrew,
It’s a Haulmaster type cab on an X plate, six wheeler unit with a Rolls 265 in it,you probably know the lorry,it’s dry stored.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave, if its the one that im thinking about ( if its grey) it doesnt seem 5 mins since it was put on the road to replace an older micky mouse Foden,
the haulmaster is to big a cab for me (and a bit to modern) although I would like the micky mouse one, is it still around ?
regards Andrew.
just noticed the posted pic., and its the one, but its been resprayed in the modern colours.

Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Just going off the grill Andrew, the old Fordson’s had a similar sticky-out grill, but take no notice of me it’s very rare i get anything right, just ask my old lady she’ll confirm that.
thanks harry long retired.

I think you get more right about the older lorries than most of us on here Harry. I had a look at some pics like Andrew did,it’s hard to tell if it’s one of those or not.The size looks about right.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Harry, you could well be right,I dont know, its a little before my time, I wouldnt fancy the job of repairing it, but some people are gifted and wouldnt think twice about it. At current prices the old tractor (which I also dont know the make of) could well be worth more money, and its all complete.
regards Andrew.

Hi Dave, sorry I dont know the answer, but it is an intresting bit of kit,it is all complete and has an unusual attachment on the front, which is controled by the “hub” (for want of a better word) with the weights in the background ■■

Hi Andrew,
I don’t know much about tractors, but can remember the one’s that were around when I was a kid, those were getting on then, one of the farmers in the village had one of those, and the one in your pic looks very much like it.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Chris i think your guess is closer than mine, i should have known that i did my army driver training in a QL and come to think the Fordson did’nt have a two piece windscreen, but that was 1954 so i’m fully qualified at being doo-lally at my age.
thanks harry long retired.

yep just found this picture of a Bedford QL, and you and Harry are right.

in regards to the Erf, its a bit of a mongrel, its got a AEC engine, and a deifferet chassis ( think the owner said it was from a coach ?, but it is for sale as he intends to clean up the yard, apparently some people from a local village have been complaining, its a pity as I personally think that there is nothing wrong in having a bit of character, although outsiders move into a locality becouse they like the area, then the first thing they do is to try to change it.
regards Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Not trying to sound clever, but I did sa on the previous page,it was possibly a Bedford QL,they were used by the Army mainly,do remember one or two having them in various forms, the Electric Board had a few of them on the poles years ago before they moved onto the S type Bedford,as they were 4x4.
Cheers Dave.
