Hi John,
They have had a quarry for years, probably as long as the firm has been around, don’t know how big or busy it is,you can see a quarry on the hill just above the village, they also do lime spreading. I noticed yesterday they have a lot of new six wheeler tankers on milk collection, they have had artic tankers for years on milk, looks as if they have gone into it more now.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Hammer,
He does change his lorry fairly often, didn’t see if it was a new one or not,he always runs a Daf six wheeler with his personalised plate.Didn’t notice if it had the plate yesterday.I was watching the road,my other half takes the pics.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Steve,
I did actuallly think about that when I scanned it,should have kept the camera away from that. I would imagine they have have a cherry picker there aas well, they have all the safety gear and a very smart wash,we didn’t do justice to their premises, but we were interested in the older lorries.
Cheers Dave.

Dave it’s nowt to do with your thread but a funny tale about a elf and safety guy. When I was at Sykes we got this bloke George from Harold Woods as a safety officer and he said he was going out with all the drivers to see how we drove ect. so I was shop steward at the time and told him big Gordon was in the yard (and he could make a wagon go) I think wheelnut knows him but he had prior warning and declined so I said do them alphabetically which he agreed to and another lad Steve was in the yard so he said he would take him and Steve was devoid of any nerves among other things so they set off and from Shepley they had not got down to Dirker when he rang in to be picked up by car as he said Steve had terrified him and he refused to go any further as his nerves were unable to take it.That ended that idea and Steve got a rollicking and we all had a a little laugh well it might have been a big one.

Hi Dennis,
Used to be a lot of artic tippers with Donkey engines on the trailers years ago,was a good thing as long as the Donkey would start, also meant you could hook any unit to them as you obviously did. I think it’s only some of the bulk blowing artics that use them now.
Cheers Dave.
how many days would they take to tip those trailers bewick.
Another FL10 from the West Wales outfit.Plus a Donkey engine for Dennis.
