Carlisle haulier Ian Armstrongs, Volvo artic bult tipper, seen on the A5 between Oswestry and Shrewsbury.
Four wheeler tippers are getting less, but this one is an even rarer sight, a Foden four wheeler tipper in Bardon colours, seen on the A49 Church Stretton bypass.
J C Evans, Foden seen on the A49,and I can’t remember where.
Saw these two at the Lazy Kettle Truckstop, Gledrid Services A483 last week. D J Thomas used to keep most of their fleet at Llanarth near the West Wales coast, but now operate most of them from Lampeter.

Smart motor. Shame they don’t make Foden’s anymore. Good payload, different choices of engines and Daf build quality .
Quite agree with you Hammer, there are still quite a few left in this area, but they will soon get less. I know of a good eight wheeler on a 05 plate for sale,if you know anyone who wants one.
Cheers Dave.
G’day,
Dave, glad you like the pics mate and remember the waggons. I’m not from Builth, but my grandparents lived there for about ten years in the housing estate between the show grounds and the Quarry,I was born in Llandovery, but my folks moved to devon when I was five,I used to spend my school holidays in Builth.
Do you remember a white F88 4x2 tractor on logs that used to park in the housing estate car park next to Ernie Jones’ Seddon in the early 80’s? Bit of a long shot I know mate.
Anyhow I found some more pics for you.
Taken in 86,Builth Quarry.
Also in 86,looks like a site vehicle, done the hard yards, note the stack again and the Leyland behind.
Quite a rare 1968 Half cab Foden water cart,86 again.
■■■■■■■ powerd Terex R-35,1983.

Another four of Mervyn Thomas fleet, pictured at Eardisley.
Once again on the A5. A nice Scania belonging to Welshpool haulier, T Alun Jones.
Pip Blyth powering Bayliss Brothers, Volvo FM12 up Dinmore Hill, on the A49 between Leominster and Hereford.
One of Grocontinentals from Whitchurch Shropshire, seen on the A49,between Dorrington and Bayston Hill.
A West Wales haulier coming over Plynlimon heading East from the Elvis rock.

Hi John,
Don’t recognise him, probably retired, didn’t go into Builth quarry as a driver. Did have an owner driver until three years ago that I was CPC holder for.
Cheers Dave.
A tipper combination and a timber wagon, parked at Ponterwyd. Sorry about the fly ■■■■ on my windscreen.
Roddy Griffiths in C W Griffiths Foden, seen on the A49 at Wellington, Herefordshire
One of Wem haulier DR & FA Ford’s Volvo FH artics, on the A5 at Nesscliffe with a load of woodchips, heading for the Kronospan works at Chirk.
Apologies if this lorry is unsuitable!
1975 Leyland Bison KDG775P retired since 1992. Parked up at the spud yard of M. J. Price and Sons in Willersley.
Shortly to become a donor for a Bison up in Stoke I believe.

Hi Steve,
You keep posting them mate, anything from the Welsh Bordes is welcome, and as you have probably noticed, the Border stretches a long way, especially on this thread.
Cheers Dave.
