John Chamberlain’s AEC Marshall six wheeler wit a 27 foot flatbed pictured at Orcop, Herefordshire.
John Chamberlain’s Micky Mouse Foden eight legger, with a two stroke engine, loaded again from Beeche’s with canned veg.
Side view of John Chamberlain’s Foden.
Last of the pics off John Chamberlain. John has got some more pics, some of his artic, also possibly Bulmers the Hereford cider firm, who he worked for. Here once again is Johns Foden parked near his home,in those days Orcop, Herefordshire.
This is the lorry John Chamberlain drives these days. Tony Lewis six wheeler FM7. John was driving a FM12 eight wheeler for Tony until it was sold a few months ago.
You don’t get much closer to the border than this firm. Stephen Deakin runs about eight of these Merc’s on bulk tipper work most of the time, this one was pulling a curtainsider when we met him on the A49 near Craven Arms. One of their depot’s is at Teme Mill at Knighton, which is right next to the river Teme, the border between Wales and England.
That driver comes into our place,I’ll tell him he’s now famous.

Don’t know ant of their drivers Tony, might do if I had a look at them, they are usually going past befor you can have a look.
Cheers Dave.
I’ll have to take my camera into work and see if i can get some good photos.

That would be great Tony, plenty of lorries where you work.
Cheers Dave.
Owens of Llanelli, are still running a lot of wagons. I met about ten in a short space of time on the A49 last week. They have quite a few drivers based in the Leominster, Ludlow and Craven Arms area, with operating centre’s in the three towns.
moved to “HEREFORD HAULIERS”

Another from a big fleet, one of Hicks seen,on the A49 at the Greyfriars Wye bridge in Hereford
Two Luxembourg plated Daf’s parked at Rotherwas industrial estate,Hereford the other week. I think they were Luxembourg with the L on them, long time since I did my international CPC.
This was a snap shot, met this foreign Mercedes on the top of Redhill, coming into Hereford on the A49.
Did post a pic of these two a few weeks back, here is another taken from a different angle.
This pic is taken at Avonmouth, but I’m sure I met the same lorry this afternoon on the A438 Brecon Hereford road.
This Hoyer tanker seen on the A49 in Hereford,is passing over a bridge which crosses a disused railway line. I think they may run the odd train up to Bulmers for display,on its left as the tanker came over the bridge is the derelict sportsman pub,on the right of the bridge a boarded up branch of moter world,so much for the modern world.
This one’s a bit over the border, its in the west country. Will have some more local lorries of old on here next week.
Can’t remember where we saw this Merc, think it was on the A49 at Church Stretton.
