This lorry of C W Griffiths is probably the most powerful lorry, that they have had. This Foden six wheeler has a Cat 450bhp engine in it, which makes it on the power to weight ratio, a very powerful moter. Peter Radford from Diddlebury in Shropshire now owns this lorry.

Dave the Renegade:
This was one of the vintage lorries that Paul bought, they never run a Foden of this type, only the newer models. But it still looks smart in their livery.Did this s20 have a two stroke engine dave? I think this might be owned by John Pearson of Coventry now, he said he had a s20 with c w griffiths on the cab.
Hi Dave,
Just spoke to Paul, you are quite right John Pearson does have this lorry now.
NZ JAMIE:
G’day Dave,
Top pics mate, here’s a couple more I’ve doug out,all taken in Builth, late in 1983. Wish I’d taken a better shot of the Foden, looks like an S40, the name on the door is A B GOUGH & SONS,LLandod. Would love to see a better shot of this old banger. This was taken on the first ever roll of film that I took of trucks,I was nine at the time, the other two better shots were taken by my uncle. The seddon is a little beauty,it was still running in 1988. Hope they are of interest mate Jamie
Hi again Jamie,
The Seddon was one of Ernie Jones of Builth’s fleet. The Reiver belonged to Ernie Bevan of Glascwm near Builth, he now runs a Scania artic on Hay and Straw, also general haulage. Paul Griffiths supplied me with the info.
Cheers Dave.
