This was one of the first Foden Alpha’s made by Fode. Paul Griffiths drove this new lorry up to Cove in Aberdeen, to a firm called Leiths of Scotland, to a launch day. Here is a picture of C W Griffiths lorry, taken outside Leiths yard.

This Foden Alpha has already featured on this thread, when it was painted blue. C W Griffiths had this lorry new,run it for a while, then sold it to owner driver Wyndham Evans. Wyndham ran it for a few years then part ex with Paul for a newer 53 reg Alpha. Paul Griffiths then ran this lorry for another eighteen months, then it was sold to Pursey who has it posted on this thread. Paul now tells me that Pursey has now sold it.So this moter has now done a lot of work.

pursy:

Heres a ex CW Griffiths ex Wyndham Alpha that I painted in Hanson colours I took this to advertise it in Commercial motor

Here she is new pursey.

First of the Daf 75 tippers that C W Griffiths has run. I think they have had three in all.

In my opinion, C W Griffiths lorries have always looked there best in yellow, all their vehicle are washed and kept imaculate whatever the colour, as is this Daf 75.I am probably biased as the lorries I drove for Clarence Griffiths were yellow and stood out from the rest, even then, back in the sixties.

Another pic of L500LFO, not sure where this is taken, as with the last two, looks familiar.

Two Fodens in C W Griffiths yard, an Alpha and a 4000 series.

Some cracking old quarry shots on here Dave, keep 'em coming fella. :sunglasses:
