Been a bit short of tippers lately. But Paul Griffiths has just lent me a load of his firms pics.
Here is Clarence Griffiths ( Pauls, Dad ) with a new Foden 3000 series tipper, pictured at the Strinds quarry in the early nineties,with the driver his son Paul Griffiths.

Brand new Dodge Kew four wheeler loading tarmac at the Gore Quarry in 1964.
Old Radnor Trading Company owned the Gore and Dolyhir Quarries until the mid sixties, when they were taken over by Mann-Abell, who had several Quarries in the Forest of Dean and Manceter.
This Dodge was one of a pair purchased along with an Albion Riever six wheeler tipper in 1964.


Bedford TM six wheeler tipper of C W Griffiths loading at Dolyhir Quarry. Clarence Griffirhs started with an S type Bedford in the late fifties, followed by a couple of Bedford TK tippers before moving on to a Commer and a lot of Leylands and Fodens, this was a rare sight in his yard another Bedford in the mid eighties. This lorry was driven from new by Terry Moses,then for quite a while by Dennis Burton, who drove Bedford TM artics for C M Philpotts, from Kington in the seventies.

The last Daf bought by Paul Griffiths. I think I am correct in saying that this vehicle, was written off by an owner-driver ,who bought it off P aul a couple of years ago.
