We have a bit of risky overtaking here, with this freelander is overtaking one of James & Son Scania Bulk Tippers on the A44 at Dunfield near Kington. Just behind where we are sat in the layby is a sweepiing corner, would imagine the freelander driver was sweating, but he got away with it.
Hard working Volvo FL7 Tipper still working, seen on the A44 at Dunfield near Kington. These trucks along with the FL10 tippers were a common sight a few years back, still a few around, but getting less.

Tidy looking wagon, I fancy one of them Volvo FM’s when I finally chop in the DAF (probably be about 2015 at this rate ). Sixs-wheelers with sleeper cabs and decent BHP are like hens teeth at the moment. Good pics though, keep em’ coming.
Ian " Lanky " Lloyd in his ex Rhys Jones Scania artic, seen on the A44 Dunfield near Kington. This vehicle has hauled out of the Gore and Strinds quarries from new.

Hi Hammer,
Trevor has had his lorry from new, its either a 02 or 03, its on a private plate, he had a FL7 with a 285 engine before, he always looks after his lorry, keeps it well maintained and drives them with a lot of thought, no harsh accelerating or heavy braking. A lot of younger drivers would do well to take a few tips off him.
Cheers Dave.
Caught these two just right. D T aka Dave Thomas with one of Tony Lewis’s six wheeler Volvo tippers, Dave has driven this lorry from new in 2003, he keeps it imaculate,he has been with Tony for at least twenty years, always takes a pride in his lorry.
Martin Morgan in his Volvo FM12 eight wheeler tipper. Martin was fleet mechanic for Tilcon at Gore quarry until they sold the lorries. He worked for C M Philpotts as an apprentice mechanic when I was a driver for them.
Ralph Williams & Son run this smart Scania four wheeler on a variety of work, ranging from coal, animal feeds to hay and straw, this lorry alternates from using this body or a flat demountable body. They also run a smaller three tonner for local deliveries.

WAS NEW TO C J MORRIS @ CRAVEN ARMS, THEN DES OWEN @ BUCKNELL WHO JOHN GARMAN BOUGHT IT OFF.
Pulled into the cattle market at Ross on Wye yesterday, and found this Peterbilt parked there, just missed a Kenworth that was coming out, as we went in.
Side view of the American. I still prefer the British or now european trucks.

Mick Gwynn runs his tidy fleet of Bulk tippers from Sun Valley, Tram inn at Allensmore, near Hereford. This Volvo is seen on the A44 at Dunfield near Kington.
Not a tipper. One of Yorkshire Haulier, Ken Mallinson’s fleet coming down the A44 at Dunfield near Kington.
Back in '77- '87 I use to pass through Llandinam around 1am to 3am, delivering newspapers to Aberystwyth with Newsflow. Is the haulier with the Green & Red tippers still operating from there, and what is their name? Their yard was on the main road, but I’ve not been up that way since.
