Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

Can’t remember where we were, when we clocked this Daf last week in Shropshire.

Looks like this Merc is down rated by the second rear axle, seen coming off the doughnut at Prees Heath A41/49.

Still on Prees Heath pics, this time an XF coming off the doughnut.

The yard was locked up for easter when this pic of A E Gough & Sons,Llandrindod Wells, Volvo was pictured in their yard. This is the only vehicle that is not blue.

Behind the wire again. Had permission to take pics at, A E Gough & Sons the other week, trouble was no one about when this one was taken, " they were all eating their easter eggs ".

Four smart units parked at R&B Transport yard at Llanwrthwl, near Rhayader, Powys.

Will be putting another lot of pics on tomorrow. If anyone has any to put on this thread, bring them on.
Cheers Dave.

Paul Grifffiths smart Volvo FM12 eight wheeler , weighing out at The Strinds quarry, it will be a shame to paint this lorry white.

Hi John,
Haven’t had any pics to post on this thread, but my good lady has taken some more now. Still waiting for some more old pics, several have promised to dig theirs out, as soon as I have some I will stick them on. Not really the forum to be sticking pics of current moters on, but I keep putting them on to keep the thread going.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave
Yeah know what your saying must be hard to keep finding the old ones, the modern ones you have put on are good and as you say it keeps the thread going. You said in a post a while back that Jean was going to come up with some more, so we can look forward to that when it comes up. Good to know your ok mate just noticed you hadn’t been on for a few day’s.

cheers

John.

Yes John I expect Jean will come up with some more, although Ive had a lot from her that are on here.
John Cross an old workmate who lent me the old pics of Brisbane and Roberts of Knighton has some more, also has some more drivers from Knighton digging them out. One of Tilcon’s old drivers John Williams, who’s two lorries are featured on the thread said he has some older one’s of his own, so we will get some eventually. Was off the pc a couple of days, had a chest infection, but getting up through the gears again now   .
Cheers Dave.
