J S Evans had green coloured lorries artics and rigids i remember they used to come to Albion Concrete in Llangadog i think they were also some kind og merchants i can not recall the name of the driver that used to come to Albion
Cheers ianto , i would see them at the Tower colliery Hirwaen , usually ERF 8 tippers , regards Keith .
Hello ianto and keith , there depot was not in Llanymynech ,but was at Penrhos towards LLansantffraid . I think they have finished now and were running Mercs and MANs mostly on coal . When they first started it was feed for montgomeryshire farmers , now the Wynnstay group ,
Does any body remember S J Morris from Llanfechain ? , they did stock work and then later steel with GUYs , Fodens and Atkinsons , they were related to Trevor Morris from Oswestry , thank you Trevor .

That reminds me that I was once sent to load at Tower on a Sunday morning. When I arrived a fitter explained with a grin that they didn’t load on Sundays!
Back home empty, double pay for Sunday working. Lovely Jubbley!!!
No wonder Micheldean depot has houses built on it now!
I have to admit that it was probably the “dodgy” night out money I claimed on that Sunday that was the final nail in the Merrin End coffin!

Evening all,
Trevor, Keith, SJ was Trevors brother, hence the similarity in lorries and colours. Yes, Trevors fleet was very smart, he bought quite a lot of second hand ones from me, and a few new. But I always delivered the new ones at night down to the farm at Morda, because if Russell Cadwallader heard Trevor had a new lorry then the balloon used to go up, (despite the fact that Russell and Gordon always had 180 Gardners with 18802 Eaton two speeds…70mph Borderers), and Trevor liked the Kirkstall back end in his.
Do either of you remember how young Phillip Morris used to park all the loaded outfits up on the farm drive at Morda ready for the off in the morning? That was long before Trevor moved to the Cambrian Railway yard…and Phillip had a DAF 2600 drawbar…
Long time ago, yet I can remember it so well, and that Welsh was the language in Trevors house!
Hello Saviem ,
Yes Weston lane Morda , and those Atkis all lined up , who could forget such an impressive line up ! And later the Renaults of Phil Morris (P&A) haulage again all very neatly lined up . I can remember Trevor having a DAF 2600 artic , but not a drawbar , did he do continental work with that ? …I think most of it was Unilevers , i can not recall seeing Trevor in Shotton .
But indeed those Atkis were afine sight with Trevor keeping links with his Welsh roots (they were all registered in Montgomery ), trevor i believe lived in Morda road Oswestry , whilst Phil may have lived in part of Brogynton Hall on the road towards Sellatyn , you would see the odd unit there like that ■■■■■■■■■ Foden with the ■■■■■■■ 400 motor he used to race with , i believe his wife also raced with it , a very respected family , thank you Trevor .
HI Trevor
Trevor Morris would often backload tin plate from Gwynn Bowen Gorseinon . Yes those Atkis were a very fine sight , as was fellow Shropshire haulier Direct Transport from the same area . There fleet presentation along with some of the N Wales hauliers , put some of the local fleets in the shade . regards Keith

Found this on e-bay, not sure if it is one of Dave’s that has been liberated,

Pete Hi , have come across this . Not one of mine so photographer unknown .
As it happens i am familiar with Hills of Pontesbury , so will see what i can find , cc .
Hi CC,
I wonder if that ERF survived? Cheer’s Pete
Hi all,
That was the only ERF that Sharples had, a very good truck too.
Gardner 150 and David Brown 6 speed gearbox.
I believe that the late John Williams, RIP, was the only one that drove on a regular basis?
I lovely truck to drive with that drive line combination!
Still alive and kicking last year as far as I know!
As for Foden FCJ 882D I’ve know idea whether she is still around!
Best regards Jack Cook

iirc FCJ 882D is being restored in Derbyshire.
Good evening.
I’m very pleased to hear that news.
I spent many happy hours working on her through her life and carrying out the conversion from rigid 8 flat bed to tipper.
I look forward to seeing the finished product!
Best regards Jack.
BSERIES PAUL:
NEP 744R was new to B Rogers Skewen Ross Roadways then purchased her 180 gardner david brown gearbox
john drove wad 12x tractor unit
Thanks, Paul. Any idea who owned WAD12X before Ross Roadways? I couldn’t remember that John drove an artic but I do recall being snowed in at Daw Mill colliery with him many years ago. We eventually got back on the M5 at about 1100am the next day.
