kingswinford kit:
Hi pete and ROF , the Southnet Tunnel is of the A443 Worcester road as you leave Newnham find the former Nags Head pub , was a former Indian curry house , and it is about half a mile up that lane on the left hand side down a rough track over a gate .
Also pete there is also the former Teme aquaduct that was bombed during the war near Wofferton , find the old railway track heading to Tenbury, follow it and it curves away to what is left of the old structure .
ROF , have found Oxenhall tunnel , but the portal atBoyce court has collapsed , but plenty to see at Monkhide and Yarkhill regards and happy hunting both !! Keith .
Morning Keith,
I’d forgot about that aquaduct, I have seen it as I can remember that one of the posts for the crossing gates for the railway line was still in situ, here is a pic of what remains, off flickr, ps. as you head towards Wooferton round right hand bend was there a café on left?
Jabez Barker Montford Bridge, yard was a caravan sales but went past couple of weeks ago and its got houses on it now, anyway a couple of one of their Matador’s that has seen better days! not my pic’s

Hi Keith,
As DTR has previously mentioned Morgans turned in to hiring vehicles, they had a place next to Chambers and Cook in Birmingham, had a Mercedes 1834 of theirs for a bit with a personal plate K11 MVL, Morgan Vary Lease, they also had a few FL10’s and loads of Merc 814 7.5 tonner’s, bit more useless info for you!!
Hi, Folks, A Fine firm we used to load back from Cardiff , Newport , and most of S/Wales for them fair rates and prompt payers , they had a big yard at Craven Arms , then went into leasing , then i think they saw the light and went into other things , Cheers Barry

Remember them well in cardiff docks in the 70,s
On passing their yard in craven arms they always had all sorts of traffic parked in their yard.
In the 90,s when British Tissues sold out to Jamont,Morgan vary lease supplied the lorries.
The British Tissue drivers went back in the warehouse and we supplied the drivers.
The bt transport manager routed these motors not our own clerks and kept pushing more distance on us.
My average day was Paddock Wood or Gillingham and my Night man would be alyesford or Basildon,Morgan vary lease
were not happy about the mileage clocked up.
Very interesting details concerning D N Morgan …My father says they hauled out of the Addis works in Swansea …as well as Dunlopillo at Hirwaen …in both instances using pantechnicons either Bedfords or Albions … Keith you mentioned fridge work …some of that was probably oranges landed at Cardiff docks …Geraint .
Hi Keith when i worked for David Nunns in the early 1990’s they leased a most of there lorries from D&N Morgans . They were mostly Mercs mine was a little 814 it was a good little lorry . Heres a couple of pictures one when it was brand new the other when it was getting on . Tony
My father bought a second hand Mercedes 1617 reg KNT535W from D & N Morgan it was a chassis and cab think it did have a demount fitted though they did fit a platform body it was white in colour and it had been on contract but cant remember what contract

I found these for sale on ebay, they are Peter Davies’s pic’s!
Hello Pete , great picture of Cyril Forresters Foden , he had 4 with that style of cab , and some were 2 stroke not sure about that one .
They at that time hauled sand from Tuder Griffiths quarry at Ellesmere , one big job being the dam project at Llanidloes . Some of those Fodens later had bulk tanks fitted for salt work from Middlewich , thank you Trevor .

Hi Keith,

Hi Keith no Nunns sold all its departments to Wynstay farmers in the late 90’s. Part of it was Ridley seeds that used to be in bridge north. The yard is just up the road from loosemore transport. Tony
