Dave could have told us who drove it!
Don’t half miss him but it’s great that the lads and Tracey are keeping the thread going for him.

Morning ROF,
I’ve not had chance to get up loft and look for the books but if you google “tonycanalpics” and go to west midlands you will find a load of photogarphs of the Monty and every other canal!! Cheer’s Pete
Many thanks, Pete. The link you posted took me to a really fantastic site! Such a brilliant, well-designed website, with really interesting links of it’s own.

Hi ROF,
It is a great site, I wish I’d found it a few years ago as I can remember me and my mate struggling to trace the Leominster canal, nearly had some lead shot in us!

Hi Keith,
Never found that tunnel, found Putnall Fields tunnel, remains of the top of another tunnel by Newnham bridge, the Rea? Aquaduct and the warfingers cottages and some scars in the land were some locks had been.
At the time that the Leominster Canal was being dug it was planned to link up with the Hereford & Gloucester Canal, which has been undergoing an ambitious restoration for some years, progressing as & when funds allow. There are some sections currently in water although I doubt if I shall see it fully open in my lifetime!
Sorry for going off at a tangent- I know it’s not lorry-related, although it is about transport.
Hi pete and ROF , the Southnet Tunnel is of the A443 Worcester road as you leave Newnham find the former Nags Head pub , was a former Indian curry house , and it is about half a mile up that lane on the left hand side down a rough track over a gate .
Also pete there is also the former Teme aquaduct that was bombed during the war near Wofferton , find the old railway track heading to Tenbury, follow it and it curves away to what is left of the old structure .
ROF , have found Oxenhall tunnel , but the portal atBoyce court has collapsed , but plenty to see at Monkhide and Yarkhill regards and happy hunting both !! Keith .
Thanks, Keith. I haven’t been walking down in God’s Own County for a while but if I’m passing I usually take ten minutes to have a look at the Oxenhall Lock or the Over Basin.
Hi pete and cc , do either of you have pics of D N Morgan Craven Arms ? regards Kieth .
