R.I.P Dave and condolences to Tracey and the Family
Why is it that all the nice people in the world get taken and the bad ones stay on earth something wrong somewhere should be the other way round condolences to Tracey and family rip Dave
RIP Dave - what a shock -
A gentleman through and through who was very generous with his time and knowledge -
Now the shock has faded, can only think of Dave free of that chair, strolling round, chatting and sharing stories and memories with all our “retired” devotees up there. Nice thought .
Love and sad but best wishes to Tracey and family. Jim.
Never met Dave. Enjoyed his posts. Impressed by his longest TNUK thread ever! May he rest in peace. Robert

Thats good to see ! Lets hope a few kind souls will keep this thread going , regards Keith
I had the great pleasure of meeting Dave and Tracey on many occasions and a true description of the man would be he was an encyclopedia of the road transport scene not only in his back yard but also nationwide,As everyone that knew Dave would know of his disability it never impeded his outlook and vigour so long as he could get out on the road with his chief photographer Tracey, He uploaded many photos for me over the years to which i will always grateful for, I had a shock when i learnt of Daves passing but his efforts will always be on these pages for all to see what a dedicated man he was, Thank you Dave it was great to know you and may you rest in peace. .
Just heard the sad news,I’m so shocked…I met Dave and Tracey several times and he always had time for a chat,Goodbye old pal R.I.P

R.I.P Dave.
R.I.P Dave the renegade, condelences to family.
Dave the Renegade:
Two of C W Griffiths six wheelers
elers, a Leyland Bison and a Constructor loading at the tarmac plant Tilcon Gore Quarry]
Some of my favourite posts of Daves’ were the ones on CW Griffiths Leylands, and Gore Quarry.
Such Sad News to learn of Dave the Renegade passing away, such an inspiration on here with a passionate knowledge that added great value to his contributions.
Rest inPeace DAVE, You will be Greatly missed, and deepest condolences to Tracey and family.

RIP Dave , Thanks for your hard work on this thread over the years .Allways checked it out first too see if I’d been snapped !
Dave the Renegade:
Elwyn Mills in his Aveling Barford Dumper being loaded,at the face in the Gore Quarry. Elwyn is still going strong, now in his eighties and regularly seen on his bike on the A44.
Another favourite; Seeing this old Aveling took me back to my childhood days with Dad at Stanton Harcourt quarry. Smiths had one of these things as the spare dumper to a 6w Foden nicknamed “The Iron Lady.” I remember seeing the old Aveling working one day and was so excited as it was always parked up when I was in there. The gimmick of the swivelling seat so you could drive it as a forward tipper always intrigued me.
Daves’ posts were guaranteed to invoke some long forgotten memories.
Only just read of the sad news. Such a shock to us all.
Dave & I must have passed each other countless times in the old days, but never realised we would become internet friends later in life.
My sincere condolences to Tracey and Dave’s family. Let’s hope we can keep Dave’s thread going in his memory.
