Same to you gelert621.Your area is an area I haven’t had many photo’s of. Have got photo’s of lorries from the area, but quite a few that I haven’t had. Will have to spend a day around the Newtown and Welshpool area and get some pics.
You probably know a maye of mine Paul Tyler from Newbridge on Wye if you were on for J S Evans, he often says about working with them when he hauled out of Rhayader quarry. I f you have any pics of the firms you worked for, it would be good to see them.
Cheers Dave. Happy New Year to everyone on the thread.
Cracking pic again cc. Happy Near to you and your family cc.
Cheers Dave & Tracy.
Hiya,
Remember seeing one like this in Bulmers yard yep,’ I was in there as usual loading
handball boxes of export via Liverpool which mean’t “do it yourself” unloading if
and when you finally got into the shed, not so happy days, bone idle dockers.Best
thing ever when they closed the old docks and gave the lot of them the “push”
thanks harry, long retired.
Hi Harry,
Bulmers moved a lot of their operation to Ledbury a few years ago, but recently announced a 59 million pound investment in their Plough Lane plant at Hereford. I noticed big cranes on the skyline around there already. Heineken International own the firm these days.
Cheers Dave.
Hiya,
Dave I hope they include a wasp free loading zone this time it was murder on a warm day.
thanks harry, long retired.

Seagulls are the biggest nuisance there nowadays Harry, between Bulmers and Cargill Meats ( was Sun Valley ), there are thousands of gulls in Hereford.
Cheers Dave.

One from my mate Altitudes neck of the woods, seen on the A438 at Kings Acre Halt, Hereford.
It looks better the right way up. Unlike their MAN unit that laid down for a nap on the A420/A415 roundabout in early December. Did a smashing job of the wine in the back.
hi dave yes i rememer paul was his dad a coal merchant in the knightin area i did not start hauling out of rhayader untill they had cliosed then we were hauling to a tarmac plant just behind the trruck stop long time ago could be wrong !!!

No gelert. The coal merchant from Knighton was Les Tyler, no relation, his son Dennis worked with him, but they packed up years ago. Paul and his Brother ran Leyland six wheeler’s out of Rhayader quarry, and then out of Leinthall quarry. Paul’s Brother Tim, seen here about three years ago.
Cheers Dave.
