As you say they have a fair sized fleet Trevor, here is the silver one that Wayne mentioned, seen at The Shropshire Truckshow.

As you say they are into all sorts of haulage Trevor.

Got pics of several of their artics over the last six years.

Logs or sawn timber, they haul both, plus many other general haulage.
Cheers Dave.

Is it me or does that have a long wheelbase?
Just asking why (if it does) as I used to load a couple of Welsh 6wheeled tippers that had long low tipper bodies and never got to ask the drivers what they were for (opposed to standard ones).

Hopefully not quite like that Dan. What happened ?
Cheers Dave.

i will ask Dad. I know he said chassis not made for work he did which was varied. Did bag work, and hay and straw as flat bed. Waste lime, stone and Gwilts did some salt and lime spreading…dad always said not suited to this work. Then also on grain, sugar beet and even scrap metal with top sides on. I seem to remember odd load of tarmac too. Think paid for itself. My memories are good times in this. Though the guys organising loads made it hard. Not uncommon for dad to have load of stone in morning. Then load of straw so off with sides. Then back to load grain so both lines of sides and plugging gaps with rubber pieces and bits of bags! Then do it all again. I was so jealous of fold in side wagons! But don’t see them now. Dad used to have me up at 5am to do help him put side boards on when i was at primary school!

What colour were the Welsh long wheelbase tippers Nathan, and were they A or B series ERF’s, it might ring a bell with me if you can remember the colour.
If I can’t remember, Paul Griffiths will.
Cheers Dave.

They certainly were lightish blue, Dave. The make/model escapes me but they were old even 13 years ago. The signwriting was starting to fade on one. They used to load fine washed sand about one load per week and it was bought by a stone masonry firm in Wales. Despite being long wheelbase 6wheelers they were a bit awkward to load with fine washed as it settles like topsoil ie doesn’t spread but just sits there. I’m sure the drivers liked it really evenly loaded to reduce strain on the dropsides. I think they carried just under 16t.
