I can’t recall the two of Parry’s Charlie. I knew Glyn Williams well, got to know him when he came to KTH,his last driving job. Sadly Glyn passed away a few years ago. A nice bloke.
Did you know my cousin Dennis Lewis who drove for ■■■■ Patrick, and then ran his own livestock wagon from Canon Pyon. I have probably asked you before.
Cheers Dave.
Dave there was a Morfa driver in Eardisley , did not know his name , an Atkinson was parked up in the old station yard , with another driver over at Monkland , who as i recall drove their Merc for a while .
And thanks to you i can remember the Blueline driver at Dorstone , didnt know his name , but remember the AEC Mandator he had . Nostalgia ! regards Keith.
Hi Keith,
Gordon Underhill drove for Morfa from Monkland, and still lives there. Don’t know who drove for them and parked at Eardisley. John ( Hoppy ) Watkins drove for Morfa and lived in Eardisland, parked his lorry near Lawtons Cross . Peter Lloyd from Kington and Wyndam ( Kimmo ) Habberley from Llandrindod Wells also drove for them.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Charlie, no i can not remember Parrys on Baglan Bay work what were they ? Did you by the way do Brecon market , or perhaps go to the abbatoir at Dowlais ? regards Keith
keith the one was a Leyland cruiser painted blue and usuall the other was a mandatory, they would have demountable 30 ft tanks on. RON birch was onit every day. he left parrsys for a while went to T S P and then robboes in Hereford, then came back to parrystill we all got finished.he then went with about 5 others to joints he always had 2 crome horses on front merc, I ment mandator
charliemjp:
can rember did they have a 4 wheel Bedford, the ones I am thinking of came from canon pyon area I tink DAVE
Yes they had four wheeler Bedfords Charlie, then they had a 92 Scania four wheeler which Dennis drove. He then went on his own and ran six wheeler Scania’s with a lift axle on livestock.
Cheers Dave.
charliemjp:
That’s the ones I used to see them I Hereford and at bowketts, I rem them having 92, were they relation to Mick Patrick
Not sure Charlie, but having the same name and in the same area they could be related. The Canon Pyon outfit finished over twenty years ago, that’s when my cousin fired up on his own, he packed up about 7 years ago and sadly passed away soon after.
We mostly see just the artics loading out of Kington and Knighton these days. I suppose its like everything else, only the big loads pay.
Cheers Dave.

Also remember that nice big bungalow being built. I think Paddy would be a couple years older than me. I remember him having a small D series Ford building lorry.
Cheers Dave.

Take a bit to shake Big G up Keith, he finished up driving for Les Price of Ivington. It used to be carnage over the Beacons in the 1960’s,half those drivers on nights used to run over sheep for the fun of it, cruel sods.
When I was going down early mornings for slag from Port Talbot I would very often count up to twenty dead sheep between Libanus and Penderyn.
Cheers Dave.
