Sam Longson’s used to come screaming by me in their two stroke Foden eight leggers when I drove a Bedford TK tipper with a 330 engine at 14 ton gross, but they didn’t when I had a Commer Maxiload or the KM with a 466 engine.
Cheers Dave.
Hi Keith & Charlie,
Hay on Wye was a mecca for lorry drivers over nighting, also a lot of drivers from that area on for John Evans on changeover, also several on for other firms. Nowadays its rare to see any lorries in the park.
Cheers Dave.
Frank Platt ran at night on A49 someone said they took castings to GKN cwmbran but not sure about that,i had a few yrs taking castings from there in 60,s for S.W.Griffiths nr Abergavenny. Platts always stopped at the Ludlow caf which was down by the old cattle market, you were lucky to get in there at night, packed out.
