hello andrew (pete359).
i think to a great degree that vosa and the like know there might be to much of a problem in interfering with the foreign trucks,it is much easier to chase taffy jock or paddy, guaranteed bread and butter here lads.as far as i know italy has the same weights as we do but as you pointed out there are overloaded trucks coming in to this country, sweden i think has different limits ,i am open to correction and chastisement lol.if vosa have their way there will be on all major roads the introduction of (WIMS) weigh in motion sensors then the fun will start,i am told there will be widespread remote reading of tacho activity by means of satelite as well. where will it end.
regards graham.

Hi graham,
Thanks for your reply.a Belgian mate has told me all about the wims on their road network. You have only got to look at the ever increasing number of belgie’s with 6 wheeler units to know that.there are more and more of our Irish visitors with 6 wheelers also.though a lot of the drivers I know who like yourself do the job everyday tell me that most of the time all that happens to johnny foreigner when he upsets the vosa man is they park him/her up for 9 hours.that said with technology advancing all the time, then maybe?things will change.
Regards Andrew

which is the best route from knighton ( Kington ) quarry to the m1 north bound regards jeh

Hi jeh,
I would say go through to Leominster on the A44,then follow the A49 north towards Ludlow and pick up the A456 at Woofferton signed Kidderminster and go beyond Kidderminster pick up the signs for the M5/M42 and so on.Alternately go on the A44 through to Worcester and pick up the M5.
Cheers Dave.

Which route did you use jeh ?
Cheers Dave.
