I was just going to ask if that was a Hanaomag or a Bray. What does the new Axor carry?

Hello all,
The movement of an abnormal load is strictly speaking one piece only, technically the bucket should have gone seperately,In my opinion the laws governing STGO are quite frankly a minefield,The comments made on this page saying there are two loads are fair enough but let us have a look at the crane ballast carriers ,there are probably up to a dozen different items on a trailer that is running under CAT 3 so where is the sense in me not being allowed to carry an 8ton bucket when i am totally inside axle weights and so forth, this is a topic that we can waste time on until the cows come home,it really is academic.
.
regards graham.

Hello Andrew.
To give you an idea of how out of touch STGO rules are i was pulled by the gestapo on bath bank jcn18 M4 about six months ago carrying two volvo shovels they weighed 8 tons each,The unladen weight of my tractor and trailer is 33 tons giving a total weight of 49 tons i was fined £120.00 thankyou very much for a 5 ton overload . The reason being since the first shovel i loaded did not take the combination into STGO We lawfully should not have carried the second shovel. But if i had loaded a shovel weighing 20 ton i could have quite lawfully have loaded another shovel weighing 20 ton providing the two shovels were loaded at the same place and then delivered to the same destination i could have run at Cat 2 up to 80 tons without fear of been pulled and fined so with a system such as this i refer to my earlier comment STGO is a complete minefield.

kindest regards graham.
Very interesting read, Graham. Thanks for that. It seems that the law is an arse…
hiya,
Bit too generous there Graham most firms would have made two loads
out of it the ones I’ve been involved with would have anyway, the bucket
would have made a nice 4 wheeled rigid load, but I suppose you’ve got to
keep the customer happy, service with a smile and all that.
thanks harry,long retired.
