I do remember where this is Southwick Hill Tunnel on the A23 Brighton bypass.
Inside the tunnel heading eastbound.
A dozy git reading the paper without realising someone was taking a pic.

Bit stuck on this one Dave, looks a bit like southbound on Birdlip to me. Can’t think of anywhere closer to home that it looks like!

Looks like Birdlip and just passing the Slad turn, I maybe wrong but I don’t think there is a traffic bollard on the Slad turning. I will have a look on my way past in the morning.

So much easier to get into now you don’t have to cross the railway line to get in and out. Could sometimes take an hour+ just to get a load.
You used to cross the railway roughly where those machines are on the left of the picture. The railway line was roughly where the road is now and was moved across out the way.
P.S. I think the quarry must have been shut when you went past Dave. Gates closed and machines all parked neatly?

Yes it was closed Danny. It was in the evening when we went by.Did go past a few times during their working hours, but only saw one Volvo eight wheeler parked in the quarry.I expect the rest were out and about. I would think that bypass made a huge difference to the place for access.
Cheers Dave.
