They don’t always get to work when the “currant bun” is out Dave although in my case it looked like my motors had always driven through a storm and that was even after a long dry spell, ah well nobody’s perfect.

We took about twenty pics at that layby last week.Phil’s new motor was the first to come by,but it was raining to much to get a decent pic,with the first few of the others it wasn’t so heavy and I was flicking the wipers on and off.Highly technical stuff

The clearest pic of one of Mansel Davies motors in the week we had in Pembrokeshire,this FL bulker seen on the A40 at Llandovery Carmarthenshire.
I think the reg of this volvo is N849TUJ which was new to wynnstay farmers & was driven by selwyn roberts

s brother stuart in front the Atki Bill drove for Rex.Same Borderer in yard at Homme Green Ross-on-Wye.With Bulk Tanker.
Albion unit Bill drove for FWT Transport,Monmouth.She was pulling a 4-in-line trailer with a coil well,plenty of fun tushing that along.
Bill later drove this ERF A series with 240 Gardner and fuller box.He did three loads a week form the South Wales coalfields to London.
ERF C series Bill drove for Rex Organ on the coal convoys.With suitable armour attached.

I expect there are Rich,there’s usually quite a bit of backloading going on.I remember the Hoveringham lorries well from the days when I drove for C M Philpotts,hauling out of the Gore which was then owned by Mann-Abell who had several quarries in the Forest.I did a lot of loads around Gloucester and the Forest,also to the M5 especially Moreton Valance airfield where they had a tar plant for the building of the M5.
