Kington for me — all those tractors and motorbikes!

The Cargo cab looks small next to the Sed/Atki.

Another angle of the two six wheelers.

The Cargo stands alone.

Brian’s first Volvo FL7 which my mate Lyndon Jones drove for him.

Seen through the tree.

Brian’s first new Volvo which he drove himself.

Seen after about two years hard graft.

I’m sure Carpenters of Crudwell had a Scania 3 series in Nash Rock colours when I was a shovel driver around 2000. A guy nicknamed “Farmer” John drove it and I believe still drives for them but in their own colours now; I know the ex Nash Rock wagon was repainted into Carpenters’ colours after Nash were took over. Saw John last week running out of Wickwar…

Dave, just wish to thank you for your pictures, I really enjoy them, wish I had your skill with a camera, (and the www.) keep it up, thanks.

Nash Rocks had a batching plant at Cricklade Nathan.I think J & B had a couple in their colours as well.
Cheers Dave.

It was J and B, not Carpenters dave; John went onto Carpenters afterwards. I remember someone telling me at Wick that he’d moved. I remember J and B wagons in Nash colours. Would the Cricklade plant now be located at Tarmacs’ newish pit at Eysey Manor between Cricklade and Fairford?

I wouldn’t know Nathan, the regions are different now with Tarmac running the show.I know that stone from these quarries here goes all over the country because of the high PSV gritstone content.
Cheers Dave.

The Cricklade plant is opposite J&B’s yard at Cricklade.
