Yes he is Dave. Just over a year old now
I have got a quote from Knighton trucks from 1989 for a scania 93m 4 wheeler somewhere. ill look for it tomorrow
Another quote for a new Leyland tipper chassis. What is the price of a new tipper chassis today?Dad bought a new AEC marshal tipper instead, will post some pics later.Regards Richard.(up early watching cricket, not insomnia!!!)
Hi Rich,
Used to go to Watts garage at Lydney when I drove for C W Griffiths.I didn’t drive a Leyland for him,but he had two Albion Reivers with the Ergo cab, also a Leyland Comet.I drove a Bedford TK being the boy, followed by the Commer Maxiload.
I usually went to Watts to take a driver to fetch a lorry or fetch him back after dropping one off.
Did drive a Comet for C M Philpotts from Kington.
Cheers Dave.

yes Dave the tipper quote is from 1989. i had passed my test year before and dad was looking for a lorry for me. he decided after to stretch the Scania 81 unit he had into a 4 wheeler. The scania 113 quote was from 1993. the scania 113 we have got now came for sale and he bought that

My mistake Merfyn, thought the 8 on the invoice was an 0.Thought the price was a bit low for an 09.Wouldn’t think the dealers are going to have buyers queuing for new lorries in 2011.
Cheers Dave.

That explains the Keltruck bit then Merfyn.West Pennine have shifted a lot of Scania’s over the years, but I expect Knighton Trucks figures wouldn’t be far behind them.
Cheers Dave.
