Well, thanks for the advice but

Just checked, it’s done on a GV80A, no advertising required and no fee payable.

Harry, did you check by speaking to VOSA or just reading the form?

when i last asked about this with VOSA, they told me that it would have to be a completely new application

Harry, curiosity got the better of me and i called VOSA the other day regarding this

what you posted was correct, just fill in the form and send it along with the appropriate certificate to them, no fee payable

this totally contradicted what they told me a couple of years ago when they said you have to advertise and show all the financial standing again

Latest update, I should have the application ready to post tomorrow although I’m not sure whether to wait until the newspaper ad appears in case there is any delay in it being published?

I also haven’t yet opened a bank account in my company name and VOSA say I will have to do that before my application is granted. I have an appointment with the bank in a fortnight’s time, I’m thinking it would be OK to post the opening statement to VOSA when I get it, 3-4 weeks from now?

Meanwhile, I had a phone call from Keyfuels today, somewhat to my surprise they have agreed to give me a fuel card without any type of bond or deposit required, I only applied on Tuesday and I take this as quite encouraging as they will obviously have done a credit check on me.

Watch this space…

Harry, it is good news about the fuel card supplier, but, if you read the fuel price thread, they are not the cheapest, sometimes, it can work out cheaper paying by cash or credit card on the pump price

Thanks, I have seen that and I will be looking out for the cheapest fuel although having at least one fuel card will save potential problems.

I do have a trading name and I am sure everyone will know what it is in the fullness of time.

Do you know how to make a small fortune in road haulage?
Start off with a big one.LOL
joking aside H dont forget to set up an account with a tyre company for that inevitable call out, i always try to get to them but if you have a blow out your ■■■■■■ without one. I use ITDN which are okay, such as ats will not even reply to you as a new operator.
Good luck, dont let your out goings run away with you.
