I don’t have any other input other than ■■■■ me, that looks bad. Hope the driver pulling the robert walker trailer is ok.

Is that really the pic of the driver scambling down from that intact driver’s seat when the rest of the cab would fit in a JCB bucket?
I’d have said he was a gonner.
Scania 4 series?

Driver if you’re reading this, or someone who knows him pass the message, for goodness sake do the lottery this week :open_mouth: , glad you made it out :sunglasses:

+1
deffo lottery week for the driver.
im eagerly awaiting the truckner csi to decide n this one, though obviousey the ball gets kicked off with the blatant fact that none of the 3 drivers were wearing a hi viz.
no woder accidents like this happen!!! :open_mouth:

I passed it going northbound at 1830 last night and 100% thought the driver must be dead. Was astounded to read later on that he got out with minor injuries

Fowl play?

TNCSI hat on here

Looks like Wolter Koops truck tried to get in layby at last minute with Robert Walker truck behind him and didn’t have time to move out to lane 2 or couldn’t move out to lane 2.
I see it all the time on A1, with last second decisions to pull into layby with not enough space between trucks, surprised it doesn’t happen more often…just sayin’ :sunglasses:

That’s the challenge at night if you need to stop on the A1. It’s all unlit so you can’t see if there’s a space in the lay-by until your almost next to it as you can’t put main beam on because of traffic going the other way. So you’ve got to slow down a lot or do what some do which is see space and in a bit of panic put signal on the slam on the brakes.

I’m glad the drivers ok but if i was him i’d quit right now as he’ll never be this lucky again. :open_mouth:

looks like the truck had an airbag. Not many do.

Never understood people who play the lottery on their luckiest days only. He already had an incredibly lucky moment, surviving (I hope) this crash. What are the odds he’ll have ANOTHER very unlikely event (win lotto) on the same day/week? That’s like winning 2 different lotteries on the same day/week…I’d rather buy a ticket on a day I’ve been Unlucky, as a matter of fact both loto tickets I’ve ever bought were on days after a sequence of bad events. Yeah I didn’t win either

Yep happens all the time. Or maybe Koops had his backend of trailer hanging out a little bit like the foreign drivers have a habit of doing

Well the driver’s brother on Facebook is saying that it was caused by a front blow-out on the Robert Walker truck. So the Koops lorry was in the lay-by minding his own business.

It wasn’t a walkers unit .

Frightening

It’s so much better to create all that carnage, including a truck possibly going through the central reservation, than for opposing traffic to just look away from the glare.

Case solved then, it was on facebook :unamused:

How the heck does anyone get out of that with minor injuries?
