Weekend Parking NOLAN transport

Right i have a complaint and want to know before i start kicking off that i’m correct to do so.

NOLANs ship through Holyhead and have anything between 10-15 units parked in Holyhead over an average weekend.

Now these boys park in ARGOS’s car park, albiet down the side where the access road is. They often drop 2 or three trailers there and basically treat it as their Holyhead depot.

I’m a tramper and appreciate the lack of HGV parking in Holyhead, and anywhere else, but surelythis aint right? There are no facilities for the drivers so they must be wee ing outside etc.

If i wanted to run 15 trucks on irish sea freight and park them there i would get hung!

I also know that these units are EIRE registered so are technically weekended so not subject to UK O liscence laws.

What does anyone think?

That sort of complaint would probably backfire on everyone else. People take the mickey everywhere but we have to live with it or shoot ourselves in the foot.

Thts why i haven’t said owt but it winds me up, i used to work for Gwynedd Shipping in Holyhead, how much does their yard and all rates/taxes cost? A bloody fortune i suppose. Yet NOLAN use a car park as a yard!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have noticed another Irish haulier uses someone else’s yard for their weekend parking.

I know what you mean,Gaz.And I take the point about Gwynedd’s rates /hygiene etc.but Argos don’t seem to be bothered,so let them put up (or deal) with it.

It’s the ■■■■■ in their blood, see a bit of empty space and they must park on it.

someone is in telltale mood :unamused: going to report parking and over on the thread about driving in the outside lane ringing up companies and telling on drivers :unamused: you aren’t one of those plastic bobbies at the weekend as well are you ? :unamused:

Would i be within my rights to write to the local council and local press as i think they are taking the mickey!

Would you feel better if they parked in a poxy lay by all wk.end■■? as you say yourself you are aware of the ■■■■ parking facilities in the UK, they are obviously parking in the best, (admittedly not ideal) place avaialable where at least they can get a meal and a pint at the wk.end, we get enough crap off the general public reporting us for this & that ,and writing to the local councils etc. but for a fellow driver, and to make it worse tramper :unamused: to think about complaining to the council about truck parking, I,m amazed :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
So to answer your question Yeh you are in your rights but don,t complain the next time you go to park in your favourite corner, only to find it has been closed due to some [zb] “writing to the council” :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Driving in the outside lane is illegal, live with it mate

Nolans are an Irish/Polish shower of tosh who should be taken off the road, also live with that!

And as for ringing up on drivers, what the hell, if someone behaves like a muppet they shouldn’t be on the road, and i’m afraid you can live with that also!!!

As for hobby bobbying on the weekend, wouldn’t fit well with the WTD would it? :grimacing:

Maybe thats why i HAVE NOT complained, but merely whinged on here instead! I will not complain, but does not take away from the fact that it is wrong!!!

I park in many different places, but i DO NOT take the mickey, these lads are!

Yes,but in the list of forthcoming events, don’t enter for Mr.Popularity!

Popularity with Nolan transport drivers is something i’ll never loose any sleep over! And i don’t speak Albanian, Croatian or Uzbekistanian so doubt they’ll ever tell me!!! :grimacing:

And to stress the point, I HAVE NOT and more than likely WILL NOT report this, just saying it aint right!

bet you loved Points of view and esther rantzen . :unamused:

Unbelievable. What happened to comrade Ship.■■?

did this happen to you ?

You are right it is wrong, but it,s also wrong that a place like Holyhead a main gateway port to and from Ireland, which provides jobs for the local community, and relies on truck movements for the local economy, that the local council does not provide at the very least a basic parking facility, and wheres the relevance of the said drivers nationality, they are doing the same job tolerating the same [zb] as the rest of us, or is there a hidden agenda in your post, possibly with Nolans??

No mate, it didn’t. But a lot of your Sothern countrymen got shafted by Nolans when they sacked the lot of them and got Poles in to do the work.

I understand what people say about grassing on fellow trampers, and i don’t have a particular axe to grind with NOLANs… but they do take the biscuit!!!

maybe it would be different if it was welsh nolan drivers :unamused:

NOLANS aint never done me any direct harm, no axe to grind there really. Nationality of drivers is not relevant really but is a fact.

As for Holyhead i totally agree it’s a disgrace! Never bothered me as i live here but the facilities are no existant. They spent Billions on the new dual carriageway, millions on the new VOSA site yet ■■■■ all on facilities.

Yeah maybe my point should have been that there is such bad parking in Holyhead, and maybe i got the wrong end of the stick in terms of what i’m arguing about?
