Wednesday strikes

Radio Oxfords been giving the lefties a soap box this morning, saying wr should all have a days holiday/sick to support strikers etc; AFAIC they can shove it up their arse if I take a days holiday it ceryainly wont be spent with a bunch of sign wavers in Oxford.
If you dont want to work find another job, I had the same sympathy for the Oxford postmen…after all their laziness the sorting office transferred to Swindon.

EVERY Working person should be out on strike, and I mean Everyone apart from these corporate and parliamentary money grabbers.

They expect everyone to cut back and work more for less, Why? Oh so they can take a bit more of the pot away from the common worker

I wonder when I am allowed to get Holiday Pay or Sick pay, apart from Stat sick pay, Probably never at this rate, and the DPC well forget it, I cant afford to pay for that myself at the moment, then medical in a few years, oh I have to pay again, Im fed up of wondering When I will be at work.
I just want a full time job which allows me to have weekends off due to childcare and 2 years fighting for my son so that I have him those weekends, Sadly most places want like Tuesday to Sunday drivers, Ok then, when would i spend quality time with my son??

Sorry for the rant, tbh, I am F’d off with England, greedy corporations and a incompetent government

Hard life darling! Perhaps you should try your luck in Ethiopia if you can’t hack it in UK. :bulb: :unamused:

Another example of greed by the governing bodies, Get the so called 1st world countries bail their starving out by showing those photos on Our TV’s to send money, But then again, How much do the charities make out of donations?

Maybe a change of career would be a good idea, I would put family time ahead of a job

everytime .

As for medical and Dcpc its just part of the job now , I dont really think its a break the

bank situation.

I am not going to support the strikers , they are still going to get a good pension , just

have to pay in alittle more , so what. The private pensions have fallen as well no come

back for us poor buggers.

A strike isnt going to change anything , its just for Pricks like Bob Crow , Paul Kenny,

general secretary of the GMB union, Christine Blower NUT etc etc to sabre rattle and

continue their gold plated pensions funded by their members.

I would rather my taxes went to a third world country I got a third world education system

when I was at school and the teachers who taught me will now be claiming a good pension

from my tax bill. Fantastic.

Even with the new deal they still have a seriously better pension than the private sector, and if you retire in the next 10 years the new deal doesn’t effect you!

Im sorry a lot of time i can empathise with strikers but ive got a real distaste for this one.

Actually im thinking it will be a good day on Wednesday, no schools usually means light traffic.

There only making the guys ten years from retiring excempt to split the strikers in two, ill for one will be on strike

You could always try China… plenty of work out there it seems, but you would kiss goodbye to that freedom of speech you’re currently exercising.

Did you bother to read the link before rattling your gums?

Why would i read a link when what i have said is entirely true? Im a taxpayer i want value for what i contribute i do not get value with public sector pensions they are so disproportional to the private sector its unreal. Im fully within my rights to be against this strike.

And the ruling class wins again! Divide and rule…don’t believe everything you read/hear in the media!

I bet you want your pension payed to you when you retire though ile bet.

And as union members , they are quite right and entitled to strike should they so wish.
Everyone employed pays TAX - so therefore they (the public sector), pays Tax towards their own salary and pension same as you or I.

As it`s Industrial Action , strike -protest , whatever you want to call it ,
means that its a day off with NO PAY to exercise their right to sound their vote and feelings.

Disproportionate or not , the TAX payer pays nothing for this one day strike. - Take it as a freebie , Your about to get a discount day.

While your content sitting on your arriss and accepting the rises and escalating fuel price charges (that everyone protested about 7 years ago when fuel was actually below what it is now ) , so they are protesting about what affects their future too.

If your so concerned about not getting value for money, then dont have kids and dont get ill wanting hospital treatment , and dont want assistance from government services.
whinge whinge whinge

Driveroneuk:
All truck drivers should be striking on the same day!

Yep,You are right :exclamation:
Comming up from right Way and stuck in Demonstrations Mess for exemple.
But bad if Rioters join in too

Saves me having to type that

I get the “I am a tax payer and i pay your wages”, why do people like that think i don’t pay tax?

well i for one are with them on this my other half works in the operating rooms at our local hospital and the things she sees would turn your stomach not to mention she deals with iv drug users knob head patients and knob head sugeions that treat and talk to there staff like ■■■■ add to that the many many hrs they work with crap pay the pension is / was they only real incentive to take up these jobs and lets face it we would all be up ■■■■ street without a paddle if we didn have these very hard working people
as a driver im on decent wages but think its a joke when i earn twice as mich as my other half for what i call having a day out driving around

So lets look at some of these people who are screwing over the very people they expect to pay for their pensions.

My brother is a teacher in Sunderland who pleads poverty. 7 years ago he started on £20k as a qualified teacher. He is now on over £32k and hasn’t been promoted. Teachers get an average of 7%-7.5% a year wage rise for the first 6 years. So even in the 2 years they had “frozen pay” he got two 7% wage rises. And for many public sector workers, whereas for us “frozen pay” means if you earned £10,000 last year you’re getting £10,000 this year, for them it means if cost of living rise was 3% then £10,000 last year means £10,300 this year. Hardly what you or I would call a pay freeze…

As to pensions, as he is now without any future promotion he is forecast to get a pension of £19k a year when he retires. He complains because if he lives 10 years after retirement, he’ll only get £190,000 for the £130,000 he contributed. Poor soul.

Meanwhile, it turns out that to get the same pension as the public sector, people in the private sector would have to contribute a third of their wages. My brother contributes less than 10% under the new increases.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the truth about the complaints of the whining public sector freeloaders.

The NHS has blown it’s wages budget on paying Consultants who give your Missus a hard time a small fortune and keeping his retired pals in their final salary pension schemes.

Pension Schemes I might add, that ordinary NHS workers will never be able to achieve no matter how long they go on strike for.

Good luck to your Missus Clifton but she is being used by her Union for their own political gain.

Exactly. Pawns in a game.
You can bet your bottom dollar the union leaders won’t be losing a days pay tomorrow.

i didnt say before but her pension is safe as she is in the old deal i dont know how it works exactly as its far to complicated for a simplton like me to understand also she is at uni nearly finished a course to qualify to move up the ladder so to speak and there tutor has demanded they have there allocated day off on wed so they dont get stuck in the middle its mainly the health service i support for obvious reasons as for my missses she is no fool and wont just jump like a sheep if a union boss says so

I watched "Made in Dagenham " last weekend.

Now I’m sure there was an element of artistic licence but the lack of support the senior shop steward gave the striking women rang plenty of bells with my own time in the TGWU.
