Wearing boots in cab

Keep my boots on all day. Rest of cab is clean. Driver side footwell gets a quick brush out on Friday afternoon

FFS, what next?

Which of your trouser legs do you put on first when you get dressed?? I do my right leg first, but I understand that some people might do their left…

Depends which way the third legs hanging…pmsl

If where talkin about foot wear… well comfortable trainers for driving, boots which where made for walking… slippers just don’t do it for me… :open_mouth:

Always makes me laugh when someone has to move a bit and get out of cab, boots on get out, back in, boots off, out again, boots back on, and so on,
I wonder how you would go on in a crash and your feet got trapped, with no boots on squashed feet! !!
No compensation. Not wearing PPE.

As far as I’m aware there has never been a requirement to wear PPE on the road, despite the amount of drivers who wear hi viz vests in the truck. I have been asked to wear when driving on site, this is mainly to make sure you have it on when getting out of the cab.

There is also no law that states you must wear footwear while driving, only that you must be in control and actually big boots with a thick tread pattern caked in mud could be considered worse than bare feet for getting to grips with the pedals.

So how exactly would any compensation be reduced because you weren’t wearing steel toecaps boots in the cab?

I personally don’t change my shoes or boots, when I get into the cab, but when I was doing Building site work I only wore my work boots in the drivers side, and kept the rest of the cab clean.

don’t wear my boots when driving…don’t want to dirty my dashboard

Suppose its what you are delivering and the sites you go to. I keep my boots on all day i deliver to mainly rdc’s etc but if i was delivering to building sites etc i might change mi mind.

Prefer to shed me boots and slip into something more comfortable, like Jimmy Choos, and Pretty Polly 7 denier stockings…‘‘hello sailor’’ in me best ■■■■ Emery.

Jesus wept, what next its a working vehicle for crying out loud, you get rid of the worst of the detritus off your boots and carry on…

Not much choice for me. No covered top step in a LF. My work is predominately building sites. Knee deep in mud quite often. So it’s not just the dirty boots that’s the problem.

Do you not find that a 7 denier has a Velcro effect on hairy legs , I use …err… sorry… I’ve heard that if you use a Remington lady shave with a bit of immac it helps.

Booties on all day - 'cept when I cosy down for a beauty sleep.

Ah, hair removal cream.

I give you, ladies and gentlemen and those of indeterminate, a copied and pasted review taken from the pages of Amazon from a chap called Andrew about the benefits of Veet hair removal cream.

''Being a loose cannon who does not play by the rules the first thing I did was ignore the warning and smear this all over my knob and ■■■■■■■■. The ■■■■■■■■ I knew and loved are gone now. In their place is a maroon coloured bag of agony which sends stabs of pain up my body every time it grazes against my thigh or an article of clothing. I am suffering so that you don’t have to. Heed my lesson. DO NOT PUT ON KNOB AND ■■■■■■■■.

(I am giving this product a 5 because despite the fact that I think my ■■■■■■■■ might fall off, they are now completely hairless.) ‘’

Honestly the things us gurls have to do… :smiling_imp:

That’s similar to how I work

That bit were the steering wheel resides is my work station, and that’s were my boots reside, though they’re not steelies, keep a pair off steelies in the side locker for the times when a site insist I were them. I don’t were shoes or boots any where else in the cab, and I brush through the cab usually once a day, and it seems to keep reasonably clean, good enough for me to live in all week. Cant be doing with all this dancing around on the step business that I see drivers doing whilst trying to get boots on/off :unamused:

As far as boots go I keep em on all day, work is quite clean and they are the steel toe capped trainer boot type. Tried having a seprate pair of shoes but was too much of a faff. As mentioned drivers footwell is the only dirty part of me truck, well thats not quite true as my bed also see’s a bit of smutty self inflicted action but thats another story.

Trouser leg choice depends on me mood but I’m normally a leftie first.
Me nad sack pretty much sits nicely down the middle, although I don’t remember me pappy warning me that my scrotum would continue drop lower and lower from the age of 30 onwards. Also noticed me wifes vadge has also headed south a bit.

As far as undercrackers go, mine normally last about 3-4 days baring any misshaps or moments when I have scrimped on a final glory wipe after dropping the kids off. To be fair I have made a pair last all week but found I was growing mould down the sides of me scrote sack.

Change me socks everyday though…

Wow I’ve seen the light…

I’ve tried boots off this week and keeping them on the top step with some water proofing.
And it has made the cab a lot cleaner even befor I only who’re my boots in Dvr area only. And I always keep my cab clean. Also feels more comfy.

If it sutes you’re type of work would recommend

I used to prefer driving in boots; especially before cruise control was standard. I did always take them off before getting up on the bunk though.

Skin Doctors - Hair no more

Best stuff ever

I have no idea what it might do to ■■■■■■■■ though as I don’t have any

Back to topic - I take my boots off and drive in socks

I hate mess in the cab. My boots stay on the top step.
I wear slippers in the winter and just socks when its warmer.

Have you got the feet of a small child■■?

Mine aren’t exactly huge, but you could only get one of my boots on the top step!

Size 13. They both fit on the top step in my 4 series Scania.

You need a five stepper then

Taking them off to get in the cab? lol, mine even stay on on the bunk!
