We don't need a resession. We've got Beverley Belle

I’m not talking about sending in administrators to sell the companies as a whole or to slice them up.
Just to continue running them (IF VIABLE) legally, Until such time that it is appropriate for the directors to regain total control.

I know of a company which has around 40 odd units and about 90 trailers. Six drivers run bent. The directors are well aware of whats going on. Why should the other 34 drivers suffer a closure and be on the dole just because of the actions of 6 drivers and 3 directors?

It could quite easily be the firm you work for, Yet you may be unaware of the dodgy side. If it was your firm, i bet you’d be prety relieved that an administrator was overseeing the operation for you rather than you blowing your nose on a p45 because you can’t pay your mortgage.

maybe not such a stupid idea after all?

And all this slagging her off is merely to throw us off the scent!

Nothing against beverely bell but dont you find it strange why so many lawyers are in such positions? Ok granted they no the law inside out but what do they no about the realities of transport?

it’s not that ms bell is too strict - the other 6 are too lenient, as for panels of experienced people waiting in the wings being paid by the taxpayer to take over bent outfits: cloud cuckoo land mate

keep weeding out the cowboys, the work will still be there to be done by proper firms at right rates and treating their employees in a decent way :bulb:

To be fair these are the new breed, the earlier ones came from nobler stock such as Major General Bumbleton De Vere or Viceroy (Ginger) Templeton Smythe. They probably learnt about transport from their fathers while sat under a punkahwallah.

Maybe you remember the old Eastern Area TC Geoffrey Simms who once ran his own fleet Capel Express. he was more hated than Mz Bell iirc.

COWBOYS… i carnt even see any indians here !!!
three cheers for bev bell and all at vostapo headquarters, just remeber it may be you next to meet HER !!!

they don’t even need to disappear abroad colin - we’ve been undercut on some work to a crete we’ve been doing for years, the clown (one of his drivers is a regular poster on here) seems to think that a rate of £2500 nett of ferries is realistic from UK to Crete, and of course return to at least greece, or more likely italy to load :unamused:

lo and behold i do a bit of digging and he’s had at least two O licences revoked in the past 5 years… hopefully a tighter regime lead by the likes of mrs bell might start to address this problem?

Mr B:
i won’t knock her because it’s a job that needs doing, far too many people regulary break the rules which puts additional pressure on firms who run straight. but wasn’t it beverly belle that witnessed a driver breaking the law so she set about prosecuting him with herself as the only witness, judge and jury. she does seem a bit power crazy

What i heard of that story was she was on a day off at an MSA for what ever reason, she saw a truck driver doing something naughty :open_mouth:  as they was driving out of the MSA they contiuned doing the naughty thing :open_mouth:  as they joined the road :exclamation: :exclamation: , she followed them and promply had their HGV licence revoked :exclamation: :exclamation: wham bam thankyou ma’am. Judge, jury and executioner all in one :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

I dont know what they were doing or wether there is any truth to this story or may be its another myth someone on here will know :exclamation:

Its got nothing to do with european intogration its about not enforcing the companies under their own noses once they have took the licence off them!! I could name at least 20 companies who have not had any punishment after the licence has been revoked and they just continue as normal with other drivers :exclamation:

jj you are right there about not needing to flag out as many just run the licence of some one else!! Some will say good luck to them as they are just exploiting the system but it always the driver who is the biggest loser i think?? :unamused:

Nearly there !!! The correct story is she was behind a truck tanking along at 60mph plus and asked for the companies tachos to be looked at, that then opened a whole can of worms!!

Sorry, but “flagging out” is entirely down to European integration.

Company directors & companies starting up again after having their licences revoked is a separate issue.

You seem to think the TC’s aren’t tough enough. Others think they’re too harsh, either way they can’t win.

The fact is that people who have a problem with the authorities enforcing the law are the ones who should be looked at.

not the people colin was meaning it’s not - plenty of firms flag out simply to get around revocation, or to carry on running dodgy easier even if they aren’t under threat, davidson & wilson were an example, there’s another firm still running who moved from kent to ostend for the former reason, if not the latter too :frowning:
