Resident’s complaints?? On an industrial estate,
That’s exactly what happened at Leeming Bar, local residents complaining about the trucks parking on the industrial estates and surrounding roads even though they were nowhere near the village. As a result overnight parking is now banned on the estate and nearby roads.

And probably a trousered backhander from the owners of the (then) brand new Coneygarth truckstop to a local councillor to boost their trade!
Wheels on the kerb / footpath could get you a ticket any where, just depends how active the police or traffic wardens are,
I got one in tilbury for one wheel on the kerb and another one for having a 45 on the 1306/a13 bridge

Seen some of the comments in this thread about the lack of parking overnight and I’m not disputing that, here however there evidently was parking space and room for them not to park like that.
Why the hell didnt they just park 50/50 on the road/pavement and it would have been problem solved and no ticket.
You know this how? My suspicion is that the other side of the road had a long line of artics already parked up overnighting when they arrived so that was the only place available without blocking the road. These look like night trampers seeing as the curtains are closed in the daytime. The day trampers had probably already departed by the time the pig turned up.
Half on the pavement would have still incurred a ticket as it’s an absolute offence to park with wheels on a footpath.
Well I was not there so cannot 100% say what the circumstances were. I can only go by that photo posted above. I will say that even if there were trucks parked on the otherside of the road it still looks wide enough for my 50/50 comment.
Yes, okay you can still get a ticket for half pavement/half road as far as the law goes but in the real world I think there is a good chance the police would not have bothered in that case. The fact they are 100% on the pavement is what has triggered their attention to this.
I hate seeing cars parked on a pavement so seeing a wagon parked on one boils my ■■■■. If there aint room to park properly then bugger off and find somewhere else to park!

There’s a row of about 8 houses front doors and garden are on the road in the estate.
Don’t know which was there 1st.
And also just behind the hedges there are more.houses.

Easier said than done when the clocks against you and spaces are very limited
Copper parked blocking the entire gate. Don’t agree with pavement parking especially in residential areas. Copper could have parked virtually anywhere else, been legal and not obstructed. One rule for them, one rule for us does wind people up.
Local residents had a big campaign to stop the building of Amazon and Kellogg’s warehouses on green field site.
They have been complaining about trucks driving through housing estates, during recent roadworks on A580.
So trucks parking illegally will get their attention as well, especially if they are linked to Amazon site.
As previously stated the people building these massive warehouses/industrial estates should be obliged to provide some truck parking for visiting trucks.

Problem Is all these new amazons are no parking double yellows everywhere

Parking is becoming a big problem seems all new and some old ind estates all have double yellow lines now and the services are all rammed it’s getting ridiculous
Problem is so many tin pot haulage company’s about now that don’t pay parking so there parking anywhere, and a lot of them are their own worst enemy as they leave litter and [zb] everywhere that’s why there not welcome anywhere.
Who knows what the solution is ? Everybody wants there goods but not the trucks that bring it utter madness something is going to have to give soon
Tinpot haulage companies? Quite a few big players that won’t pay for parking (unless it’s a high value load - pay to protect the load but not the driver sums up how some of these companies view their drivers).
Didn’t I hear some years ago the RHA was supposed to be discussing making it a requirement for companies to reimburse parking charges (should a driver wish to use a truck stop and drivers hours allowed)? If so, what was the outcome.

Big company plus slack planning regulations. To operate these companies need trucks but don’t provide adequate on site parking. Their business model has contract vehicles but no parking for them nor facilities for those drivers.
Stinks
I’m paid to park, but i choose not to unless valuable.
As much as it might come as a shock to some, when I’ve parked up after 13 plus behind the wheel, I don’t want to talk to my neighbor next to me about :
Where he’s loaded out of.
What he’s loaded with.
What he told his planner to do with his unrealistic load time
What time he’s hoping to be on the boat to Calais tomorrow.
What his next piece of tat he’s ordered to stick on (his bosses) truck.
Plus theirs those selfish ones amongst you that have to run the engine every now and then for what reason I don’t know( maybe work for a firm that fixes your faulty night heater if thats the issue)

You might be lucky enough to park next to DickyNick that would be a treat for you just imagine what you might learn and maybe just maybe you too could also become a driving god
