Looks great when they are clean and yeah thats a good point if you got a Audi or Bmw that was 100k would you clean it of leave it dirty. Even bring it down to someone who cleans it would be a compromise but theres no middle ground in this arguement [emoji23].

Speaking of washing your car, …I don’t know what it is lately with me but I’ve became totally compulsive OCD about keeping my car clean, I’m round our local car wash everyday sometimes twice a day, 
… and I’ve even started taking my 2 lad’s cars round there as well.
I think I may have some kind of a problem tbh, can’t explain it.

I normally wash mine once a week and do the interior when needed. Our yard is very dusty so always seem to get a layer of dust across the dash, normally due to having window open when reversing the truck up. Whats the best way to get into hard to reach places like around switches? Whats best for the floor?

I have always kept a clean truck, when I started out on Swifts in Northampton in the 70’s I washed my truck at every chance, I shared a Volvo F7 then F10 and drove night trunk most of the time, drivers who were told their vehicle was needed for night trunk some days would ask that I drive it because they knew it would be spotless next day. Others would ask ‘Why bother washing that ? it’s raining, it will be just as dirty tomorrow’ yeah, but it won’t be twice as dirty I would think. On Federal Express / Matchbox we got a very expensive pressure washer and every time we returned to the yard it was washed. Over here my company let us use proper truck washes, which cost $85.00 a time.
I am 65 years old now and have cancer but I still try to keep it as clean as possible. I was told by a DOT cop at one inspection after he just looked at my licence and handed it back “I am not going yo bother doing an inspection, your vehicle is spotless and the first thing we look at when you open the door is the floor, if it’s clean like yours we just send you on your way”
Pat , I can believe that happened with the D O T ! ,I had it once down sussex once with the ministry

Once had a run in whilst on a 45 at Pease pottage services with my very clean but worn out DAF 2500 , they knocked on the door and asked if they could do a check round ! fine I said but I am on break and your asking me to work whilst on break !!! fireworks from his ears he explained ,yes your wagon is bloody clean and well cared for but "all DAF 2500 have oil leaks son !!! in other words I find a bad oil leak and prosecute you ! didn’t matter I ended up having about 2 hours break ! got paid and was still back in the afternoon to wash my old DAF down (on overtime)
If a company wants you to keep a truck clean it should provide the facilities or the funds to visit a truck wash. If it’s there I will do it.
