Was he doing right?

:arrow_right: He said of the strikers: "I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.
“I mean, how dare they go on strike when they’ve got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living.”

Course he was doing right. He makes his living by offending the easily-offended.

No he wasn’t, typical Clarkson though

Think the best comment on the strike was “they should ■■■■ it up and live in the real world like the rest of us”

It wouldn’t have been so bad in my mind if it wasn’t coming from someone who is one of the BBC’s highest paid ‘stars’, paid for from our licence fees, who has probably got their own pension well & truly sorted, so he can hardly talk…

I actually enjoy reading his books & articles, but he is beginning to jar a bit as a live presenter.

Was he on strike that day too then?
Must’ve missed that…!

He is saying what all decent people are thinking but in a Clarkson way. Oh how boring this life would be if we were all the same but that’s what the nanny state wants.

I now await a barrage of abuse.

Top Gear is a Worlwide brand now, Sales of the show to other Countries, DVD’s, magazines, books etc, must bring more money into the BBC than they pay Clarkson and his co-hosts. As for what he said, well it’s what he’s famous for.

As for the Strikes there’s a lot of comments on the lines of “well I haven’t got a pension so why should they have one”, but when you took the job I’m sure you knew it didn’t have a pension so you accepted that as part of the terms and conditions of the job.
But a pension is part of the terms and conditions of employment that they signed upto when they took the job and obviously very important to many of them.

If somebody was trying to change your terms and conditions of employment, regardless of how good people who worked elsewhere thought it was, wouldn’t you feel a bit angry.

once again, the uptight people get all upset! Diddums!!

It should also be pointed out that the quote above is only half of what he said and only sounds sensationalist when taken out of context like this!

It was typical Jezza satire

Every ■■■■ whom is offended by big JC should seriously grow up a bit, he’s simply hilarious.

He’s basically an unfunny arse who lets face it with the way he lives will probably be dead himself soon but the union is just being childish now. He probably shouldn’t have said it and I doubt he means it. I just like to see the silly sod getting grief! The union is just making itself look silly.

So let me get this right: people that say people should be taken out & shot should be taken out & shot. Is that right?

It is right that people who repeat themselves on a forum should be taken out and shot twice

+1

His ISP should be shot also! For not having adequate coverage!

Of course he was right, he’s only saying what most are thinking.
If more spoke their minds instead of trying to be so bloody self rightious and politically correct then the world would be a much better place.
Clarkson for Prime Minister I say!

Clarkson’s comment on the one show

All fuss over nothing! It’s a One day stoppage! It’s hardly the Miners strike 2!
Unison are a shower of Muppets though! Threatening to take legal action! :unamused:

I can never understand why people make such a fuss when the likes of Clarkson says something controversial. It’s what he does and really should have no more impact then listerning to the loud mouth git in the pub or even cafe.
Of course Jeremy Clarkson isn’t an idiot, he knows that saying something like this will cause a storm and give him loads of publicity, which only means he sells more books and DVD’s.

I’ve just heard on the news that the Union Lady who accused Clarkson of being Gaddafi like has accepted his apology.

Quite cleverly, she also asked if he would like to roll up his sleeves and help out some public sector workers. A bit like another very famous Yorkshireman?

I doubt they can afford a racetrack at Stoke Mandeville…
