Was he doing right?

Clarkson’s an act, and it’s one of a joker and a wind-up merchant. Nobody should ever take his comments seriously, I think people need to watch his programs more in order to see what other crap he comes out with and then they’d realise that they should never let themselves get upset by him.

How many people here really got enraged by his accusations that all truck drivers murder prostitutes?

I don’t agree with what he said, or what he has ever said, I think anybody would have to be mad in order to do so. But I do find him entertaining at times. Maybe there should be a disclaimer before he opens his mouth, but it’d be a sad thing if it came to that.

would it have to be a private company making the bullets as all the public sector were on strike

hes a joker but he has a point lol we are all strugling not just the public sector

Yeah isn’t it funny how no-one has managed to upload everything JC said when he was asked the question, he started off saying that the strike was great because London was empty and he could drive around easily, and then went on to say that since this was the BBC he had to show a balanced opinion and went on to say they should be shot. Once again the tweed knickers, sense of humour-free brigade gets the headlines.

Have a look at the Unite website instructions for what to do if you don’t want to take part in the strike…

"If members approach or are approached by pickets and on assessing the situation feel
insecure, threatened in any way or indeed believe that their presence or continued operation
in the area could endanger either themselves or others, they have the right to remove
themselves from the situation.

You have a statutory duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) Section 7, not to
endanger yourself or others during the course of your work. This decision is one that can
only be made by yourself as the individual concerned, having assessed the situation as you
see it on the ground. As above, if you feel your continued presence is a danger to either
yourself or others you should remove yourself from the area and contact your employer for
further guidance."

If I wanted to got to work and I was threatened by a mob I’d call the ■■■■■■■ police, and expect them to take action.

These idiots had the cheek to accuse Jeremy Clarkson of inciting violence, but they are implying to their pickets that threatening behaviour to innocent people who just want to get on with their work is ok.

Here is a full transcript of an exchange involving Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson on BBC One light entertainment programme The One Show, in which he was asked about Wednesday’s public sector strikes.

Matt Baker [presenter]: Well Jeremy, schools, hospitals, airports, even driving tests, have all been affected. Do you think the strikes have been a good idea?

Jeremy Clarkson [guest]: I think they have been fantastic. Absolutely. London today has just been empty. Everybody stayed at home, you can whizz about, restaurants are empty.

Alex Jones [presenter]: The traffic, actually, has been very good today.

Jeremy Clarkson: Airports, people streaming through with no problems at all. And it’s also like being back in the 70s. It makes me feel at home somehow.

Matt Baker: Do you know anyone who has been on strike today?

Jeremy Clarkson: Of course I don’t, no. What, somebody public service? No, I don’t. No, absolutely. But we have to balance this though, because this is the BBC.

Matt Baker: Yes, exactly.

Jeremy Clarkson: Frankly, I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families. I mean, how dare they go on strike when they have these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living?

Matt Baker: Well, on that note of balancing an opinion, of course those are Jeremy’s views.

Alex Jones: Only Jeremy’s views.

Jeremy Clarkson: They’re not. I’ve just given two views for you.

I think the one’s facing the sack should be the producers and presenters of The One Show for asking Jeremy Clarkson for his opinion on something as important as the strike. It’s a lightweight programme and clearly couldn’t get anybody on who could give a serious insightful opinion on the matter. I think the woman from the union probably accepted Clarkson’s apology after taking legal advice from a union solicitor who most likely told her to belt up and get back to doing some proper union business.

He is right and said it in a tongue and cheek way. People in this country need to get a life. I mean…5000 complaints, more complaints than showing gaddafi’s half dead body being dragged through Libya. People are complaining who haven’t even watched it and in the context it was said in, it’s JC being ourtrageous for a laugh and telling it how everybody see’s it in his own ‘shock’’ people way… and on that bombshell…

WHY DON’T THESE ‘POLITICALLY CORRECT LEFTY’ [zb]'s GET A LIFE FFS!! Haven’t they anything better to do■■? :unamused: :unamused:

heard bits of jeremy vine today, and all this bleating about clarksons comments. i never heard the full transcript though. makes it all different!!

im also led to belive that he doesnt just ‘mess around with other peoples stuff’ and ‘crash into things’, but he also does quite a lot for charity.

ps union topcats should be shot

Yes he was doing the right thing

Overeaction by a bunch of lefty n00bsacks

As for the rather stupid newspaper comments from people who don’t like his act, he can certainly cause hatred to himself, there is a bloke in my local who spits on the floor or in his own beer when JC comes on, all over a comment that Jezza mentioned about motorcyclists over 5 years ago.

As far as I am aware, Jeremy hasn’t killed anyone yet! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good on JC. Like others have said to all those that are offended, get a life ffs.

:arrow_right: He said of the strikers: "I’d have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.
“I mean, how dare they go on strike when they’ve got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living.”

At least quote the entire interview rather than just the bit that makes him look bad.

He said good stuff about the strikes, then in a dig at the bbc said bad stuff to balance it out, then said that he gave 2 views. Morons jumping on bandwagon, end of, nothing to see here.

Why get all bent out of shape over someones opinion; regardless if he believes in it himself.

Why can’t 23,000 people complain when Katie Price comes on the TV? :smiling_imp:

Yes

Dont know what the fuss is all about, he says things like this all the time :unamused:
