Did it have a steering wheel? If so did it have any words on it?

i cant remember sorry.
not if it had a steering wheel. that would be madness. obviuosly there was a steering wheel.
if it said volvo, i guess it would be a volvo.
This must be Dozy under a different username…

Wonder if it was the “limpet at the wheel” warning light?

You should be a comedian, my sides are killing me!!!
My money’s still on this being a wind up because if it’s not and idiots like this are being handed the keys to a truck and allowed out on their own then the industry must be in a worst shape than I thought it was!!!

Can’t help you there I’m afraid, as although I do have a touch of wit, and rather a good sense of humour, I’m gainfully employed in another role currently.
Sorry to disappoint you, old bean.

Why should I need to know what make the truck is to take it out on the road??

Well hopefully you are better in that role than commenting unhelpfully on my post.
Because different trucks have different controls, gearboxes etc, switches you might need which would vary in location from vehicle to vehicle, and in some cases even model year.
It beggars belief that a professional driver could locate and familiarise themselves with all of these features, yet fail to notice what make and model it is.
How would you know you’re getting back into the right motor after a stop, or at a drop, if you don’t even know what it is.
Please stop being a knob. You say you want to stand up for the agency brigade, and come out with a complete load of gash like that.

Christ, I wouldn’t take a motor out until I knew what make and model the tachograph was!

We are talking about someone who forced the diesel nozzle into a adblue tank.

so that when you ask someone where the other dipstick is(asuming your meant to check the level before setting off),you can tell them what truck it is so they may be able to tell you…mc donalds are hiring again, definately a career option more suitable for you…surely a windup…if not, then how pathetic has the job became that lets idiots like this loose

I just look at the gearbox. Remember I am new to all of this so not an expert. The first 2 trucks I drove were automatic. The last 2 had manual 6 gears. Didnt need to know if it was a Volvo or Daf.

Dont have time to. I am handed the keys and told to get on with it. Aside from the walk around I have to learn as I go.

I collect the truck then go and do my deliveries. I dont leave it anywhere.
Come on man, surely you can’t fail to miss the MASSIVE badges on most trucks. Hell, Scania have got it written on just about every dam surface inside and out.

Really? I just put my card in and away I go.
i know its late sat night, and amusing enough, then who could be this useless?..has to be a windup.if not…do not drive anymore trucks…work your life around the benefit system and itl save you posting anything else on here…
on the other hand…keep up the good work, and keep posting…makes a change from youtube…

I know what its meant to say but I cant remember what it was. I dont go into work and think - I hope I have a volvo today. Or a Scania.
I couldnt care less what vehicle it is. I prefer driving an auto and hope it has reverse cameras. The first 3 had the cameras but the last one didnt.
I passed my class 2 in a manual so can drive both. Lots of people have turned down work when they find out its a manual as they passed in the ■■■■ easy auto.
If I had been driving for 5 years then say I dont know what truck it was - I could understand all the negative comments.
I am new to all of this so learning as I go.

def not a windup.
will continue driving and keep learning. am a good driver. was better off on the dole.
So you rock up at a delivery? The truck opens itself up it gets tipped, and you get handed your notes back through the window.
And as for gearboxes, it could be buttons on the dash, a centrally mounted switch or stalk controls. So they all come naturally to you, but looking at the badge on the grille or steering wheel just seems like a ridiculous waste of time?
Would you take the same approach with a tail lift?
You’re a bloody idiot. I do believe you must be immigrant under a new name.
Do me a favour. Get your Lidl bag with your stuff in, empty it into the nearest bin you can find, find some gaffer tape. Place said bag over your head, and attach the open end tightly around your neck with the tape. Please note, this is not an aid to lorry driving, but it will benefit the lorry driving community considerably.
Thank you please.
