Wanted - 1980's SK mercedes tractor

that one came from hereford galvanizers been a yard unit for a few years

the hereford galvanisers one was the one sold for 6k on ebay this week!

if it went for 6k i think there is a lot of cash to be spent to make it road legal

I can only think it made so much for export? seemed to emphisise it had a v8 engine in it.

when i looked the day before it ended it was 3.5k reserve not met so they must of known how much it was worth.

was kinda interested in one of these mercs myself.till i saw the price. :frowning:

hi tdl102

heres the pic anyway even though its sold now

cheers
gaz

Update : Found a mint ex museum 1628S in Holland, went over and had a look, couldn’t believe my eyes, it was out of the box brand new with all the bits that used to come from the factory, curtains, pillows, books, you name it, its there.
8,890 genuine KM on the factory fitted tacho.
Paid a shed load of euros and now she is waiting to go into the paintshop to go back into MB9010 and Red Oxide chassis (the guy painted it in his flower company colours, only non original thing on her)

Great find! When you get her back even shinier, get some more pics up!

Well wear TDL102…nice find…Keep us posted with plenty of pics

Seek and yee shall find.

It always makes me smile when a story has a happy ending such as this…

Steve.

wow that looks very clean.

keep putting the pics up,cant wait to see more :sunglasses:

Here is a few more pictures of her waiting in the paintshop for my top painter to work his magic, fortunately he served his apprenticeship painting and rebuilding these so she is good hands!

That truck is brand new!..brings back very happy memories…no electronics, computers, diagnostics…a good old fashioned gear lever to change gear with…very easy to maintain & repair…it no wonder there’s such a demand for them in Bongo Bongo land. Keep us posted with pics of progress…The interior is very impressive…a very good buy

The repaint has started!

That Merc’s absolutely stunning, and the condition is second to none. To find one in pristine condition, how jealous am i. . Look forward to the finished job with bated breath. I remember my 1st SK Merc F467 NJF a 1628, so easy to drive after an ERF. Not the most pokey but nice an neat…

A few updates, a bit of progress:
Check the original green engine colour.

A few more updates, will be on holiday soon so chances are the next ones will be of her all finished.

This post is amazing! And that is one perfect merc! An owner driver near us had one of these in black with a horizontal gold band around it, simple yet mint! I’m building a model of it as it happens and these pictures are invaluable especially the interior shots, looking forward to seeing this one finished keep us up to date, all the best.

The completed article.

Some more…
