Daventry is here.
I haven’t been to Kiln Farm but from the directions I was given by the other driver for future reference it’s somewhere round here. First exit off the A5 as you’re coming south.

Delivered to Tesco Didcot yesterday. Big signs everywhere
" DRIVERS HEALTH AND SAFETY RULING . NO DRIVERS ALLOWED TO RETURN TO CABS UNTIL UNLOADED. "
I had a word with the shift leader asking how this was beneficial for my health and safety and he said that the new rule was to protect Tesco/Excel employees , not visiting drivers.
He would not comment on who was responsible if a vehicle was damaged , or property stolen from the cab whilst the keys and vehicle were under the control of Tesco.
His very helpful suggestion was that if I didnt like it I should tell my company and they should not send me back there.
To be fair, I was in and out with 26 pallets tipped within 45 minutes . No one was actually checking that you stayed out of cab but I felt like a naughty schoolboy whilst I had a 30 minute nap on my nice comfy bunk.
I was thinking about this last night, and the question that came to my mind is what the insurance company would say should anything happen. You can bet Tesco will deny all responsibility, but if you have handed over your keys then I have no doubts that the insurance company would use it as a get out clause should anything happen. Does anyone know where this would stand legally■■?

I have had that said to me on many on occasion, it’s about time they started taking responsibility for their actions.

tesco at fenny lock at mk allow you in their canteen not a bad place
anyway…
i dont understand all this ■■■■■■■■ about not sitting in your cab to me its not up for debat i just hand in my keys and THEN go and sit in my cab and read a book or watch a film.
Rob. Updated thanks.
And just to point out that it is not only Tesco, EXEL who Paul said refuse to deliver to Tesco have the same stupid rule at Daventry. there is no access to the canteen as it is only for staff, not visiiting drivers.
My experience was I was delivering a load of wine ASAP, the security told me I wasnt booked and to return to BP, Our customer requested that I return to the site and they then made me wait for 5 hours for an urgent load!
The security guard got a rocket for turning me away, the goods in man got another rocket for delaying me. It hardly made any difference to me, I was still sat 5 hours with no keys.
I think the only reason they take your keys from you is that they are sick of drivers leaving site with their loads
do you still get cab searches as you leave site
i don’t do these places but if im handimng my keys and leaving the cab im not responsable for anything that happens to be in my cab as i leave
also why don’t all these logistic companys have the same health and safety across the board. im wincanton and drivers can remain in the cab at are place and use the canteen if they wish. we don’t have cab searches and im sure they don’t take the keys of you.
whats the diffrence your still backed on a bay reliing on a red/green light.

I have finally got my own back on one of these powerstruck people
It was only a small victory buit it tasted sweet
Delivering to Royal Mail in West Ham, I was grunted at by a security guard, and pointed in the right direction. As I puled round looking for a free bay, there was a gap and a truck just about ready to pull away. I waited a few moments to give the driver time to close his doors. I could hear someone whistling, a loud 2 fingered whistle.
I then backed onto an empty bay opening my doors when this bloke in a hi-viz came running across.
what are you doing on this bay?
Im delivering 3 pallets.
I want you on the next bay, didnt you hear me whistling?
Sorry I thought someone had lost their dog!
Put it on bay 8
I was already on bay 9, an identical bay with access to the same warehouse, but decided to humour him and move the truck 12 feet sideways
Have you got a pallet truck?
No, havent you? I dont need a pallet truck, he asked me how I was going to get the pallets off, I arent I replied, you or your staff are, thats why I have backed onto a bay so you can unload me
If you dont place the goods on our loading bay, we wont accept them! he told me
I walked back to the truck and jumped in, as I pulled forward I heard him shout, I walked back and started to shut the doors He asked me why I wouldnt tip the load,
I cant mate, ITS HEALTH AND SAFETY
Funnily enough, I was tipped fairly quickly after that, with a fork lift driving into the trailer.
This is a regular job for us with at least 2 trailers per day
do you still get cab searches as you leave site
Do they search your cab on the way in if not what can the security compair it with on the way out.How would they know if you had something in your cab if they didn’t search it on the way in.
Malc pulls out yet another creaser :

Isn’t that a ■■■■■ when you get all wound up for a good arguement, then somebody gives in before you’ve even got started?
Salut, David.

YES!
Ohh yes…that is SO annoying !!!
Off course there’s always the cab phone, and if your poor TM isn’t in work there’s always the night security.
PS: Remember to phone them back 10 minutes later to excuse your rude behavior !

By unarguable legislation of the brewery
I think if there desperate then a truck is sent but with instructions to the company running the rdc its an in and out job not an mobile store room .
Any longer than the times stipulated on the sheet then dependant on the brewerys wishes you get pulled out .
I am on my last 2 days with this company
To me this means NO MORE sitting in Tesco’s, Sainsburys or Morrisons
I shall be meandering down to Spain and other such lovely places where H&E is a ■■■■■■ perversion, not a rule
I have asked 5 times to be sent to Hinckley this week but have they sent me there■■? NO CHANCE, they said
They know me too well lolol
