Vosa trying to pull after youve passed them

Was driving thru Welshpool this afternoon from Oswestry direction, and as i came to the railway roundabout and vosa was parked just before it, I took the first exit towards Newtown and low and behold Mr Vostapo had pulled out after me, I got approx 1.5 miles down the road to the next r/a whereby his lights were full on and he was about 6inches from my back doors. I slowed down and pulled to one side on the r/a, (my window down at this point) where i decided to stick the old noggin out and question thru hand gestures whether he was wanting to pull me. As far as i could see, he wanted me to spin around the r/a and proceed in the oposite direction back to the checkpoint which was about 1mile on the northbound side, my instant answer to him thru another hand gesture was to give him the bird!! He went around the r/a and headed north and i went south, but within 10 mins the office had phoned me and asked why i didnt follow the vostapo to the checkpoint, to which i replied, “The d1ck was behind me, not in front, i aint got eyes in the back of my head!!” I told them the story of what happened, to which i was told, "Keep her going, if they wernt in front of you and you couldnt see the “FOLLOW ME” dont worry about it!
So i didn’t, so this is the score at the end of play today:
JAY 1---- VOSA 0

Love it mate, nice one! I bet his ■■■■ is still boiling now!

excellent stuff, but the only thing is your lorry might be marked now or maybe even the whole fleet

Give that man a Blue Peter Badge    Well done mate :sunglasses:

M4 J15 (Swindon East) where VOSA have the checkpoint in the highways compound; Pull into right hand lane off the M4 and turn for Marlborough. Go right around the roundabout and come back onto the A419 but drive in the right hand lane; They can’t pull you in across the path of traffic in the left lane can they? I’ve done it a few years back and I’m sure he thought [zb]!)

so how do we stand when you see the signs saying" checkpoint ahead, all goods vehicles must stop" cos i never do  i,m thinking of the likes of carlisle and stirling, you know the off the road sites where they arent stood there, i,m of the opinion that if they dont wave me in or pull me in then i aint going in!

Never seen “must pull in” signs before…

I would try to pass anything, going past the slip road at Wetherby, so I was in the outside lane. I couldn’t start to count the times I’ve had to drop back in 1/2 way up the bank because I didn’t have the legs. I was only ever pulled in there twice though

i,m sure at carlisle and stirling it says something along the lines of " all goods vehicles must enter checkpoint" i,m sure someone local will put me right

Doesnt the sign say “Enter checkpoint if directed” but then i might be wrong…

I’ll confirm that I have seen them, I noticed one on the A1 south, between the 2 motorway bits at M62 and doncaster, but never seen it active or any wagon pulling in on the off chance. For the scotland ones i have heard (DRIVER MYTH NEVER CONFIRMED) that they are only allowed to get you if your already stopped (at services etc) but how much truth is in that I haven’t a clue and in honestly don’t believe in for one sec.

could it be then that in scotland vosa dont yet have the power to stop therefore pulling in of your own accord would be the only way to stop you without the police

No need.
Look at the lane markings as you come up the offslip to the roundabout.
You can use the centre lane and go n/b onto the 419 ,staying in the outside lane past said establishment -thats if you have got anything to hide of course

I know but looks less obvious! Seriously though, we’ve got good reputation with them; have to, they use weighbridge at Ducklington for ■■■■■-pulling

You need to be aware of your company’s OCRS score, then you’ll know whether you’re likely to be tugged or not.

You need specialist training for that :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

i had that happen to me in Ayr this year

was on my way to turnberry with a generator for the golf ,anyway spotted them in the layby by the turn in to ayr town centre when the car pulled out after id passed and followed me till the next round about when on come the headlights and beacon, so i carried on towards maybole thinking if its me,thats getting pulled he will overtake and the follow me will come on, got to the next roundabout and he still hadnt overtook so so carried on when he went round the roundabout back towards ayr

thought nothing of it except coming back to ayr an hour or so later they were still there and got the follow me sign

when the arriving in the layby the vosa muppets first words was gotcha you should of stopped this morning when i was behind you

with that they went over my motor with a fine toothed comb and the same for my tachos, shame really as thy couldnt find anything wrong as it was just back from plating
