Not sure how it all added up,but I know one of our planners told a night lad to come straight back to our yard and leave going into another depot to drop stuff off as the lad had done according to the planner done 21 hrs ,I’m assuming he included travelling to work and back in that, but not sure still how he got to 21 hrs,I know where the lad lives and its about a hour from the yard ,so 15 hrs and his 1 hr travelling comes to 16 hrs not 21 hrs,but there must of been something in it as normally planners just interested in getting job done not how many hours you’ve done,it maybe perfectly legal to do 21 hrs(assuming he’s telling us right) if your travelling to works included but its bloody stupid if you ask me,lads got a hour to travel home at end of shift after all those hours ,easily fall asleep.
Where do you work Dozy ? I have a feeling you may be working for Walter Mitty Haulage
To those who don’t believe the stories about getting knicked for cleaning your mirrors whilst on a break, pull over into a lay-by, stick your handbreak on and phone the missus/bit on the side/boss & ‘hey-presto’!!! points & a nice fine for use of a mobile whilst ‘in control of a vehicle’.
i would happily go to court and explain to the judge that i was cleaning my cab due to my ocd condition. i cant have dirt in the immediate area. As this is a mental condition i feel the prosecuting officer is punishing me for my mental state which surely goes against my human rights…

Yep 11 hrs in US and 13 in Canada but they are looking at bringing in that you have to take a 30 min break after 8 hrs

I was chatting to another driver a few nights ago and he informed me that a guy from his firm got pulled and they found nothing wrong with his tachos or his wagon, so they fined him for leaving his spare pair of glasses at home.
Actually this isn’t far from fact. As someone who wears glasses, I know that either here or in Europe it is illegal NOT to carry a spare pair with you when driving a truck. Cannot remember the exact details
