real or fake, i’m undecided. but it gets more impressive when you see one of the vehicles is an artic.

A quote from the Mail
Although some safety equipment was digitally removed, no computer trickery was involved on camera and the stunt is genuine, according to Volvo.

I still cant get out my cab without missing the bottom step and going A over T
I think maybe the trucks are going forward rather than backwards !!

I agree. If they really are going backwards then that is a truly epic bit of reversing from the bloke in the artic, and I am not worthy of lacing his boots.
I mean there’s not even the tiniest twitch of a correction.

Not according to this their not .They are going backwards
Well I am not worthy then. Very impressive

So that means a harnesses that safely allowed several takes despite what the Volvo man said, and despite using artic models in his demo, one was actually a rigid and the actic probably had its fifth wheel welded or locked up somehow to the trailers wear plate, as theres now way an artic can be backed that far without it eventually kicking out of line
Am I the only one who suffered watering eyes as he hit the bottom of the splits? And yes, its a bloody good bit of reversing from the artic, not bad from the rigid either.

That’s the hole point of Volvo Dynamic Steering, that no/a litle steering is needed to hold the line. This is why they show it like that.

No matter how good the steering was I wouldn’t put my balls on the line to test it

Would not trust the swedish with my balls, no! NOT HAPPENING!

Bummer I drive a Scania
However it was done, it must have done what Volvo wanted over 19,000,000 views for a truck video, video of the day on MSN. etc
I like the caption at the end, “it was carried out by professionals in a closed off area”
Like any of us were going to try it tomorrow when we get to work.

Well we do have 2 FH’s in the yard, but obviously being at work I’ll have to do a risk assessment, get some fall arrest gear, Hi viz, safety boots and hard hat. Oh and a new pair of knackers.

Yes, the trucks are moving forwards and the film has been reversed. It’s a well-used film trick, if you watch the original " Railway Children" film they do exactly the same thing, the train makes an emergency stop and stops less than half an inch away from Sally Thomsett’s chest, in reality the scene was shot with the train reversing away from her and then reversed to suggest that the train was moving towards her.

That may be the case travelling forward, in reverse its the trailer that decides where its goes and no matter how good the units steering is, it’ll still need correcting. Some trickery went on there I can assure you
Seems the trailers where not the same, look at the top of the trailers, one has lights and seems higher?
This clip took me via You Tube to a C4 documentary about Operation Black Buck when Vulcan XM 607 bombed the Port Stanley runway, the longest bombing raid in history, denying the Argentine forces use of the airfield and threatening Buenos Aires and other city’s on the mainland with bombing strikes so they held back their jet fighters to combat this threat.
