[VIDEO] Some very awkward cab moments with a learner

the most condecending remark I have ever read on a forum

Look at your previous post

You can get a very congenial instructor who’s instructional technique is not as good as someone who is not as “friendly” but is the better instructor.

Without a doubt. Totally agree

I am a fully regularly tested ADI

Puts you a little further forward but I feel there’s possbily a rude awakening on it’s way. Having taught motorbike, car, truck and bus and trained instructors on all classes, I can assure you that there’s a lot to learn.

The best driver in the world does not always the best teacher make.

Very true- but the driving experience certainly helps

That is why there is a part 3

Also true. You will find the part three for trucks rather more interesting than for a car.
I honestly and sincerely hope you do move to trucks in due course. It’s clear you have a passion for the job and it sounds that you’re good at what you do. Having gained the driving experience and, hopefully, gained access to the LGV register, you will be a credit to the industry potentially.

Peter my last 3 months have been spent driving Glasgow, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, Peterhead, Inverurie, Elgin, Inverness, Wick. Covered lots of miles and lots of hours.

Analysis would suggest that as I thought in the beginning it’s bigger I position diffently dependant on available space. It has not changed my DSA driving style only that I am now as at ease with it as my car. I only use the car to get to WORK 15 miles each way.

I will admit that reversing is the skill that takes time to aquire some nasty drops and inconciderate car drivers parked.

IT HAS NOT AFFECTED MY INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUE ONE BIT.

I believe we may be at cross purposes now. So it just remains for me to wish you good luck with your driving and who knows, eventually LGV instructor tests.

Standing on my head Peter, I have already been courted by and keep intouch with my training company.  However I do enjoy the driving but not looking forward to the winter/bad weather.
