Well have you told Vosa or still hearing the voices in your head.

The economy in Britain is a mess, hardly anything gets made there anymoreNot strictly true to be fair. Not looked into it myself but saw a statistic recently that we make more cars now than we did in the 70s.
For foreign owned companies.
Does it matter? Let’s face it they probably do more good for the economy than the bankrupt British basket cases we had in the 70s.
You have nothing to worry about just report them to VOSA simple the law is there for your protection as well as your mates I would shop them and feel no remorse.

It is true, Britain is making more cars than ever, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t compare to our once great industrial prowess. For example the cars that we are assembling are made from imported steel rather than British Steel, many other parts that were made in the industrial complexes of our country are now imported too, so while it’s a good thing, it’s not as good as it once was, even if the numbers are better

Exactly what I was going to say.
All quiet on the western front then

I thought I saw something flying last night, not sure if it was his toys out of his pram, or his dummy being spat
Lmao
Perhaps the company solicitor’s been on here??
CMH:
I am, of course holding details as I plan to be anonymous as things stand. Once I speak to Vosa tomorrow I will be in a better position to speak more.
Fair enough but the company will, of course, claim that you are a disaffected former employee who is trying to cause trouble.
As for remaining anonymous I hope for your sake your username isn’t your initials…
How about an update, did you report to vosa then?
The only advice I have for the OP is speak to the relevant authorities first and post your observations on the GBU forum last!

You’d be surprised how many of components for those cars are made in the UK. Lots doesn’t compare to the past, we are no longer an empire straddling industrial powerhouse world super power. Those days are long gone and are never coming back. Our economy isn’t in a bad place and in fact of the western nations it’s doing the best. Best get used to our new place in the world, as a small country on the edge of Europe, both geographically and politically.
If you allow companies to run bent! Your putting your self in a down ward spiral! Because they will probably do the job cheaper, hence will win more contracts than the honest business. Therefore you will end up working for a butch of cowboys ! As the honest business will close or start running bent to!
Hiya…i see you’ve not got proof of all these illegal goings on. one Thursday i got a full load for Luton
(from Chester) no problems but i’d booked a dentist appointment for 11am Friday.
one loader who said we was cutting the job up say you’ll not be at the dentist on time,
i replied no problem. leave Chester at 1400 down to wast Bromwich for a early tea and shower
and into Luton for just after 1800. I’ll ring the customer to leave the fork truck key for me.
i can unload while off duty, leave at 6am and back to Chester. our loader went mad.
So what really happened i did go to West Brom and have a night out. i met up with another driver
changed trailers. Paul (my mate) run down to Luton Friday and tipped. i run back to Chester
with Pauls empty trailer. The loader never noticed the trailer change. wow did he go mad telling
everyone how bent i’d run. All this was sorted with the office, no one told the loader, infact it was
about 3 years later we told him. its easy to make mistakes whats really going on.its fun to wind
people who are looking for problems.we did it all the time to this loader after that.
John
still no word on the weigh bridge… …or actual proof of the unlicensed drivers lack of entitlement.
until then,im going to assume it
s a classic case of disgruntled driver talking ■■■■■■■■.
sorry
An owner driver of an immaculate Scania tipper around here was (according to Facebook) shopped to VOSA by some ■■■-hole with a grudge. VOSA found absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever and even complimented him. Judging from comments on FB, said shopper better hope his identity isn’t disclosed…
The truck in question is known as “Charlies’ Pride.” The complainant is clearly an A* Window Licker. Relevance to this thread being, I hope the OP is genuine, for his sake.
So where’s the problem. If you’re running legal and you get stopped, it’s cost you an hour. Any more reports about dodgy running are less likely to be taken seriously in the future so he may even end up with less stops than he would have in the past.
If it’s not legal then why do so many of you have a problem with it?
The OP has not commented for a while, hopefully he’s stopped listening to all the posters on here who were criticising him for wanting to work for a legit company.

The problem is
-
They are large national food multi-drop company whose trucks will most likely be on R&M for a start.
-
(The worst) He is abusing the enforcement authorities’ to pursue a personal vendetta and in doing so is diverting their resources away from genuine road safety issues whilst they waste time on him.
-
He is a brand new driver and this was one of the tiny number of firms prepared to give him a start. They might, as a result, decide taking on newbies is more trouble than it’s worth and it’s one less desperately needed start for new drivers not available.
-
It could create trouble for the blokes working there if the TM wrongly suspects one of them.
-
(The one I care least about) He will get a reputation as a snitch and no-one will want him. This business of ‘legit firms would be happy’ is some of the most insane nonsense I’ve ever heard. Absolutely no-one wants snitches either working for them or with them.

That could be interpreted either way but the lack of answers to reasonable questions such as proof of overloading is very noticeable.
