I dont find anything suspicious about VOSA i find them rather blatent.

and there on the a31 today

They were also pulling our Irish friends into Midway Truck stop Whitchurch at 3.00 this morning

I got flagged into a vosa pit stop wotsit, I was in a 10 plate 12 tonner. Pulled in and the vosa chap told me to hold on a minute so I switched off and jumped out to have a leg stretch. The vosa man was then approached by another vosa man who asked him what the hell he pulled ‘that’ in for. I assume he was referring to the fact that it was brand SPEH-ANKING new and there was little point wasting time trying to find things wrong with it. The other bloke apologised and sent me on my way :open_mouth: didn’t even ask for a print out.

To say it was my first ever ‘run in’ with them I reckon it went rather well :grimacing:

forgot to pick my paper tacho’s up that morning (about 4 applicable to the previous 28 days), so apparently couldn’t prove I’d had adequete weekly rests - parked up for 45hrs too :imp:

Noticed at the time they only seemed to be pulling trucks that looked like “nice little money spinners” all except mine, no idea why they singled me out

Ah that’s a bummer. Yeah I’d’ve thought they’d pick the old snotty ones.

Pulled in last week checked round everything, looked at tachos all spot on but had to end on a negative, because the ramps on the beavertail had been taken off for repair and they had the long vehicle markers on I cable tied two old ones on, not good enough!? no fine or anything just an advisory which I had to wait ages for because they couldn’t get the printer working

Dunno why everyone carries the tachos round with them. Just asking for trouble as you’re basically giving them more fuel for their FPN fires. My old ones spent most of their time sat at home until they were due to be handed in. If the battenburg bloke asked me for my previous weeks I’d just tell him I’ve been in Tenerife for 3 weeks and only started back today. Obviously that only works if you’re starting from base, but they’ve no way of knowing whether you’re talking BS or the truth.

Cos nobody ever commits tacho offences in newer ones do they?

Depends how far your boss will back you if they ring him. I’ve seen a few caught out like that. (Unless your an OD).
