, Now im a owner of a removal company with five vehicles but I use to work for BRS Oxford first as a fitter then got my apprenticeship then after five years ,I took a job driving on the Habitat contract then on the Atlet contract . Now and again I would go in a wash my truck in my time , now im not a plank or what ever you want to call me, I like to see and drive a clean truck .
What I did was book the hours extra through the week to make up for the time I spent cleaning a company vehicle .
Now go forward 20 years and as my men are keen I look after them ,ie If they come in and wash there truck I will pay them a bit extra , I also allow on slack days to wash and clean the cars ,in my time and using my cleaning products and even help them when they have a problem with there car .
And I pay them a good rate , who is the mug now your say "yes me " but i got no sickness problems and no moaning when I give them a crap job .
I have also bought them cab tables proper mats etc ,i also give them a choice in the extras when I buy a vehicle .
Im all for a keen driver and not a tear arse driver who does not give a flying â â â â .
I can vouch for Jakeysâ fleet, they all look brand new, all the time.
Jakey, youâve seen me on the road several times and although mine was nowhere near as clean as yours, I think I look after mine pretty well considering the environment it worked in.
he probably took a shine to that particular truck, and thought the bosses would give it him permanantly if they saw him cleaning it in his spare time.
in other wordsâŚbrown nosing for the best truck
