Telemetry is a technology that allows the remote measurement and reporting of information of interest to the system designer or operator. The word is derived from Greek roots tele = remote, and metron = measure. Systems that need instructions and data sent to them in order to operate require the counterpart of telemetry, telecommand.
OK, looked it up myself. ■■■■ fancy words!
So, between the digi-tach, the sat-nav coupled tracker and my mobile, I reckon they’ve got me covered.
Nothing to hide, so all’s cool.
Had it once before, not at the moment.
They said it was for vehicle security… if so then why did I get phonecalls on the hour, every hour, asking why I wasn’t at X Place yet.
In my opinion they are a bad thing because although I have nothing to hide at all and I am proud of the way I conduct my work…all it takes is one jumped up git in the office to go on a power trip after a bad morning and it can really ruin your mood.

I got all of them in my van.but controller still rings up and ask’s where are you??or how long till you get there when i am already there…
once when working through an agency for a firm in hull got a phone call from the office it went like this you have been on that road for over an hour now me and whats the problem

Where’s the voting options ? 
I believe the trucks where I work are being tracked, can usually tell as it interferes with my mobile phone.
Got a hands free mobile in the cab. Free calls within the company, but the only people who ever call me are the other trunk driver or one of my mates.
Wondering what per cent of us have tracked vehicles … that was the reason for the post !!!

Despite having a 42" plasma tv in our office showing you where we all are still get the calls " where are you" !!!
to be fair they dont really chase me up much only a odd time , not really got a problem with the live track ,as nothing to hide and as long as not busy they dont really mind you having a longer break !

It’s a good job we’ve got trackers fitted because on Monday we got a visit for northumbria police about a fatal accident in Newcastle on Friday when a white truck killed a cyclist and didn’t stop and I was driving a white truck but luckily the tracker showed that I was half a mile south of where the accident happened.

Got a phone in the cab, only rings every now and then and usually it’s for a good reason…likewise I only ring if I need to.

Come to think of it…every time my boss phones me and says… “how are you getting on”… I say…“have a look out of your window in about 90 seconds and you’ll find out”.
Iso-trak fitted and mobile phone is inbuilt with it.
I’ve no problems with it,and one good thing it shows all your coming work for the next 24 hours and with all the address’s displayed on screen too,
saves being told the address over the phone and not hearing the address properly.
I’m all for new technology.
