Russia has drawn up a list of enemy countries (that’ll be all of Europe then) & will now only settle debts in roubles euractiv.com/section/global … in-rubles/

I see apple maps has removed Russia from world map lol How ridiculous is that? You can just see the emails from NUTO, Oy Apple remove that country from the world map before we sanction you back to the stone age. Same options they’ve been giving Russia for years, How democratic. sott.net/article/465123-Pat … ses-Russia
We didn’t remove Russia from the map even at the height of the cold war with fingers on buttons. Also NATO and Russian adversaries all together in the Commies authorised holiday places like Yugoslavia and a few former WW2 ones too Brit German and Russian vets all together.

Russia is a major world supply of not just Oil and Gas, but other stuff as well, such as Palladium and Nickel among the metals…
Nickel - has absolutely gone through the roof these past few days, a normally quiet market, and now becoming rather lucrative to those scrap dealers that happen to have a few ton of it lying about in ingot form in their yards…
FFS a rally upto $100,000 per tonne - would encourage people to steal brand new cars, and put them in a crusher - just to get such scrap metal out of them - wouldn’t it? ![]()
Price has settled today @ $80,000 per tonne, which is $800 per kilo, or $20 per ounce (25g) putting it up there with Silver■■?
![]()
We’ll be seeing Jewelery made out of Nickel at this rate soon…
“Hey guy, I was thinking of getting your future bride one of those Breitling Swiss watches with this week’s city dealer wages…”
“Don’t bother pal - I bought some nuts and bolts made out of pure nickel last week as spares for my wheels man, and now I’m thinking of sticking one on my girl’s finger at the wedding next week…”

The idea that we can’t function without Russian raw materials is bs intended to rig markets for maximum profit.
The Russian convoys in WW2 were all about getting stuff into Russia from the West’s industry.
Not bringing stuff out to keep us going.
At best Russia was never about sustaining the machinery and industry of its Cold War enemies.
Ye it is worrying. A lot of countries have sanctioned Russia without really working out how much it will impact us.
I dont understand why we have had a policy of NATO expansionism for decades while also increasing our reliance on Russia. (Mainly the EU to be fair in this context not the UK).
news.sky.com/story/ukraine-war- … d-12560387
If this happens we could see a huge cost of living crisis with fuel shortages that will make last years ones look tame in comparison.
It is a simple fact at the moment that the west is reliant on Russian gas and oil. Russia a large tanker fleet. And many countries such as India, Pakistan and China will happily buy discounted Russian oil.

Strange how the Commy lovers are selectively pro fossil fuel use when it suits their argument at the time.
Then it conveniently changes to we must use less or none so China can burn it all.
A strategic withdrawal as JFK did over Turkey isn’t the same thing as appeasement and needlessly making ourselves dependent on Communism to suit a profiteering minority.
We need to get NATO the hell out of Eastern Europe then get back to a Cold War footing
As opposed to this bs situation of NATO sabre rattling on Russia’s borders using Russian and Chinese aircraft and Russian fuel.
Who’s fooling who here.

Maybe if it was not for the Notrth Atlantic Treaty Organisation and those ‘psychopaths in Washington’ we’d already be under the Hammer and Sickle…, and if you want to go a bit even further back, if it was not for the Americans we’d be sure as hell speaking German.
So imo we owe them quite a lot tbh, and should be grateful for their alliance, instead of slagging them off and championing the side that has no relavance nor similarity to our own heritage or way of life.

No one here is championing the side of Russia. The issue seems to be as soon as we point out the stupidity of NATO and American policies that helped faciltate this war you seem to take it as we are siding with the Russians.
On a more related note. Apparently Putin is recruiting people from Syria to join the Ukrainian war.

Praise em if you want but I wouldn’t give those warmongering ■■■■■■■■■ the steam from my stools.
A bit of a twist: Poland might be sending it’s MiG 29s to the US base at Ramstein in Germany. No guesses where they will end up of course.
theguardian.com/world/2022/ … us-ukraine
Other NATO countries with similar aircraft might follow suit.
As full NATO members Poland etc can expect to get support from other members to protect itself in case of attack from other countries.

Ironically even I’ve been subject to that for pointing out that this containment strategy using conventional weapons v a nuke armed power that’s threatening pre emptive use is like taking a knife to a gunfight.
Or as stupid as the strategy of boots on the ground in Vietnam when they could/should have bombed North Vietnam back to the stone age and nuked Russia and China if those Commy scum wanted to get involved.
My bet is we’ll see who’s side you’re championing given those examples.

I do worry that Russia can take this as a huge escalation.

This news is so erratic in detail that it can’t be taken as credible. At best how are they going to fly aircraft from NATO into Ukraine without breaching NATO protocols. It contradicts all the rules that NATO has set itself.Having said that Russian and Chinese operated aircraft were being used in Korea and Vietnam.
Which leaves the question where was Poland ( NATO ) getting the parts support, to maintain MIGs from.

You don’t need to worry.
Ironically Putin has totally taken out the containment strategy and made it moot by threatening the use of nukes which the US put it in place for to avoid. That ended well
cnn.com/2022/03/08/politics/ … index.html
Now he knows that NATO is scared of nukes he’ll keep going and push it back, probably starting with Romania, just as he intended.
Which sill leaves the question as to why would Russia want to provide product support for NATO air power.

You are aware that the Americans were happy to not join the Brits in 1939,1940, or indeed 1941, because they were happy to sell their equipment to the Germans… it wasn’t until the unthinkable happened, and the Japanese bombed the American fleet, that our “allies”, actually took sides…
