There is one dictator in the region who has been in power for decades, and has altered the constitution to remain in power.
He has closed the free press in his own country and invaded a smaller neighbour. He has ordered his troops to take civilian targets.
Putin is the nearest to a ■■■■ here.
Or Hitler’s ally Stalin. They are all Socialists it what Socialists do.
All those years facing mutually assured destruction through the Cold War now you think you can stop Communist aggression by arming some Ukranian have a go heroes with a rifle.

@Franglais. Provide me with your proof/link then that there is no bio-weapons? You’re speaking as much bolloxs as the biased western press too. The yanks deemed it OK to invade Iraq on that pretext to legitimize war, what’s good for the goose eh!yada yada.
All this “eleven day war” by the news sites, It’s been going on since 2014 when the democratic president Yanukovych was ousted (rightly so) by a kangeroo court at gun point. He should have faced a proper court of law instead of being ousted at gunpoint & a puppet government installed by the west.
The Ukraine ■■■■ militia’s have been bombing Donbass & Lugansk for eight years with the death toll topping 15000. You don’t hear much about those statistics do you!! How ironic Germany is now arming the Ukraine ■■■■’s with military hardware.
As the west has banned Russian news outlets I can still can get both sides of the story from the good the bad & the ugly & somewhere in between will be the truth, Rumble, Odysee or any VPN is still open to Russian news thankfully…
I’m at a disadvantage here as you obviously know more about Ukraine, it’s history,.and it’s politics than I do.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but did I hear somewhere that both the President and the PM are both of Jewish descent,?
If in fact true., how does that correlate with your opinion of the Ukraine being a ■■■■ state and organisation,. when one of the fundamental policies of Naziism is/was, anti everything Jewish.
Short answer. It is complicated.
Slightly longer answer. The Ukrainian Ultra nationalists hate Russia. So they were one of the key drivers in the regime change in Ukraine in 2014 that ousted the more pro Russian Ukrainian government. They are also one of the main forces that have been fighting pro russian seperatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk region for years.
Zelenskyy has basically been playing a game of trying to appease the ultranationalists while trying to keep them under control. I liken it to having a rabid dog that you let lose on your enemies.

I found it quite interesting when Zelenskyy asked one of the Ultranationalists to disengage in the region and he just said no. lol.

Edit: lancpudn beat me to it
Maybe the contributing amateur military strategists, those concerned about the possible domestic financial impact, or concerned by the potentially large numbers who may flee to this country, should look at how this is affecting ordinary Ukrainians and think themselves lucky. I think so far we have only had one or perhaps two, mentions about anything positive we or our industry can do.

What do you suggest we do?
lancpudn:
They’re a puppet government installed by the the west & bankrolled by the USA & ex Russian oligarchs for their own geopolitical benefits & to use the Ukraine people as cannon fodder. Ukraine is split into different camps since the puppet government was installed in 2014 & one side has been poking the bear to get exactly this reaction, Playing stupid games wins you stupid prizes & they won the top prize.
“Poking the Bear”?
Was Ukraine a military threat to Russia? Was it poking the bear?
Putin has been spending too much on keeping oligarchs on side, and having too large a security and military to keep himself in power.
His own population have seen the west facing countries doing better than themselves, and that is what upsets him.
The Russian people have no great argument with Ukraine. In that region they have had decades of moving around and families exist on both sides of the border.
The Russian Army were first told it was just an exercise. Putin is closing down his own press because he doesn`t want the greater population against him. Troops losing lives in Afghanistan was bad enough, having them losing lives as they kill cousins will not be supported by Russians.
A puppet gov in Ukraine? Not yet, although Putin wants one of his own puppets there.
It is not perfect but is undoubtedly much freer than the country that is invading it.
Even if it was a puppet when does two wrongs make a right? If it was a puppet (and I dont accept it was) how does an invasion help it? Putin isnt going to liberate them and pull out! He may have tried that fairy tale at first, but the heavy fighting and killing of civilians has given the lie to that argument. That is why he is closing down the press in Russia. He doesn`t even want Russians to see what is going on. There is no justification for him and his invasion.
@ Adam…
“The Grayzone” ? Really?
Wikipedia:
"The Grayzone has been criticized “for its coverage of authoritarian regimes”.[3][10][23] Bruce Bawer, writing in Commentary, described The Grayzone as “a one-stop propaganda shop, devoted largely to pushing a pro-Assad line on Syria, a pro-regime line on Venezuela, a pro-Putin line on Russia, and a pro-Hamas line on Israel and Palestine”.[23] Nerma Jelacic, writing in the Index on Censorship, described The Grayzone as “a Kremlin-connected online outlet that pushes pro-Russian conspiracy theories and genocide denial.”[28] The Grayzone had previously claimed Jelacic’s employer collaborated with ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra affiliates.[28] Socialist academic Gilbert Achcar asserts that The Grayzone is an example of “pro-Putin, pro-Assad ‘left-wing’ propaganda combined with gutter journalism.”[29]
It has also been sharply criticized for its characterizations of the Xinjiang internment camps and other Chinese state abuses against Uyghurs.[3][10][30] James Bloodworth, writing in the New Statesman, commented: "n an echo of the way dictatorships publish the flattery of credulous foreign dupes in their state newspapers, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokespeople have approvingly tweeted articles from Blumenthal’s online magazine The Grayzone which have sought to deny the persecution of China’s Uighur population."[30]
In March 2020, the English Wikipedia formally deprecated the use of The Grayzone as a source for facts in its articles, citing issues with the website’s factual reliability.[3][12]"
As approved by China, Putin, Assad, etc…

As opposed to the US Military strategists who dreamt up the containment strategy which is why Eastern Europe is now facing the predictable results.
Ukrainians then probably Romanians then Poles next paying the price for Americans to feel a bit safer at home.
While Putin still threatens us with nuke attack.

Nothing to do with Ukraine it’s Russia v NATO and Ukraine decided to make itself a target by adding Ukraine to NATOs containment strategy.

The only threat was NATO & the ■■■■ thus running the country, Whats happened to thew people of Ukraine who have been put into that situation is a disaster, NATO & the west especially the USA have a lot of Ukraine blood on their hands, When are they going to be sanctioned? Do you think irt would have been any different if Mexico or Canada invited the Russian forces &^ missiles in those the countries the USA would have responded any differently? They soon threw their toys out the pram when Cuba had Russian hardware in their country
That’s what I have a problem with the hypocracy of NATO. I have every sympathy for the Ukraine people just not the prize thugs running it. Once again if the Ukraine ■■■■’s want to play silly games then they’ll win silly prizes so if they come running to the west for help I’d be the first tell them to get stuffed. Their welfare is the responsibility of the countrty that stated this mess 8 years ago
Now that the USA has made another cluster***k of another country it’s not surprised me in the least of their latest two faced episode of sending two US officials to get pally pally with Maduro’s government after sending assassination squads to kill him & sanction their country into a shambles, Now that Russian oil & gas is off the table they want to talk oil with Venezuela, You couldn’t make this stuff up. Another bunch of USA people I’d tell to get stuffed before they even embarked on the plane. reuters.com/world/americas/ … 022-03-06/

But the Russian Communist utopia is so much better.
I seem to remember that it was Russia that had as many rules stopping those wanting to leave that Commy crap hole as America had to apply to those wanting to get in.
As for oil you mean the same compromised senile Commy appeaser who wants to hand over the free world’s oil supplies to China.
We need Trump back in the driving seat.

Yep.
Wonder if Cuba will be next lol. A country that has been crippled by USA sanctions and US pressuring other countries to not trade with it or else.
The US should of ended Cuban sanctions years ago, frankly a joke.

The way I interpreted it was that the US were sending new planes to the Polish Air force, and the Poles were sending their existing planes for the Ukranians to use.
The Poles had a fleet of old MIG29s which Ukranian pilots know how to use.The US is going to provide newer US types to Poland.
Which leaves the question why would Russia have wanted to provide product support and spares for NATO member Poland’s airforce up to now.
Also NATO member Turkey is in a deal with Russian allies Pakistan and China to supply it’s airforce with new planes.
It doesn’t add up in fact it stinks.

Even wierder.
By all accounts it would leave Poland defenceless in the interim while converting to the F16s.
It’s also obvious that an F16 is no substitute for the superior twin engine Mig.
They are also fitted with communications tech which is dedicated to NATO operation.
Last but not least NATO is getting cold feet regarding Russian threats if it helps Ukraine with air power in whatever way.
Which leaves the question why would Russia and China want to help provide fighter aircraft capability to NATO members.Whether in the form of spares for Polish Migs or new aircraft for Turkey.

I’m sure that mutually assured destruction would include ‘me’ preferably sooner and quicker rather than later and slower if it had kicked off.Obviously including the 3 year old ‘me’ at the time if Kruschev had chosen to make a fight of it.
Then laughed at the ‘protect and survive’ narrative when I was a bit older.
Instead of which we’ve now decided to turn Eastern Europe into a potential or literal battle field by changing strategy to one of conventional ‘containment’ on Russia’s borders.
All based on the deluded perception that Russia wouldnt just say oh look now they’re scared of nukes.Added to the idea that they’d be ok with moving NATO conventional forces up to Russia’s border.
That ended well.
So are you saying that letting Ukraine get hit over our problem, is better than telling Russia to withdraw it’s forces and we’ll withdraw ours from the former WP states, but if they refuse we’ll act on Russia’s nuke threats first before they do ?.
Did you even understand what I’ve said.
I see apple maps has removed Russia from world map lol How ridiculous is that? You can just see the emails from NUTO, Oy Apple remove that country from the world map before we sanction you back to the stone age.
