UK to Middle East. Does it still happen?

Do any UK hauliers still run to the middle east at all? I remember about ten years ago there was an article where a few Ralph Davies drivers went to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Do they still go? Does anybody go out that way from the UK nowadays?

you my find that people who do these runs,do not like to
talk about them due to the cut throats, who wish to get into the
trade,by undercutting those who are doing the job already,
However time HAS proven that this job is one left to those
firms who know exactly what is required to complete the job,

I’m simply asking IF it still goes on. I’d like to think it did.

we still do some, although a fraction of what we did - you have to realise the transport infrastructure is improving in russia and the republics all the time and the local firms buying new “western” equipment, so job is bound to shrink

We hear occassionaly of guys doing sellers,

Buying tractor units, getting a load to somewhere outlandish, tipping the load selling the truck for a profit and flying home.

I dont think many, if any, are now doing regular runs
