Tyre Prices

peirre:
I recently paid £395 for 4 summer tyres for the car (Michelin pilot sport 4) with £50 cash back.

I have the Pilot Sport 3’s on my road rally car, and they stick to the road, like ■■■■ to a blanket.

Ken.

service for my mrs st , they reconed it needed new back discs , cars only done 18,000 miles , £297 , regas aircon £128 & something else ( maybe brake fluid ) at over £100 , all in £800 , I said just service it & I’ll get her a new car
I’ve no idea if she’s heavy on brakes but I’d expect more than 18,000 miles out a back set ( they looked ok to me )
I can understand in a way why some just lease , if I’d of done what ford wanted , with tyres it would be nearly be nigh on £1,100 in a month on her car
I said we will look at a new car , she ends up looking at a 66 plate focus rs at
31 k with more miles on than her car , she likes the blue apparently, mind boggling , 30 k for a Ford Focus , she will wear me down eventually no doubt

Have a look at Tyre Reviews on YouTube and the bloke goes though all types of tyres brands top of the range to budget. In all conditions. Interesting how some of the lower brand tyres are getting abit better. I have put Goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 5
Tyres on my car at £75 a corner fitted on a Honda type R. Is good value.

All the budget tyres are owned by major manufacturers and the price depends on how much EPDM or how much Nylon is used. I remember when Bridgestone made motorcycles as well as tyres, the tyres would outlast the motorcycle, mainly because they all crashed due to lack of grip. A lot of early Japanese cars and motorbikes came on these really hard tyres and main dealers were replacing them before they left the showroom. As we know from watching F1, MotoGP and BSB. Bridgestone Tyres are among the best available now.
